Thanks again, do these bolts need to be set to a certain tolerance/ torque setting? Or just tight, I stuck some copper grease on all the threads.Excellent
Going to go for a spin in a bit to test it out.
Edit: my god, it sticks to the road round corners.

They aren't very tight strangly enough, 15 ft-lbs (20Nm) for the 4 bolts on the brackets & 30 ft-lbs (40Nm)from the drop link bolts.
HA HA HA, so now you know how sh1te the Audi ARB really is. Which setting did you use? Soft or Firm?
Enjoying roundabouts more now then
.... Wait until you change your front control arm bushes... Unreal...

Ah perhaps I've over tightened them, job for another day. I guess it's to do with the movement and the grease keeping it lubed up.
I went for the second to last holes so firm I believe. Couldn't believe how light the OEM ARB is, surely that can't be doing a lot, if anything. So much weight and better feel for the 034 version.
Oh god, don't say that. I thought I'd drawn a line with the mk1 mods with this completing everything more or less.

Yeah thats the firm setting. Don't bother with the soft setting. Firm suits the car better.
The Audi bar is a joke. I'm sure the ARB on my old 06 2.0 TFSI Sportback S-Line SE was thicker than that. It didn't have 1/2 the body roll my RS3 did when I bought it and I was really disappointed with the car. As soon as the 034 went on I was back to happy smiley face
Just kidding about the front control arms, wasn't trying to get you into bad habits again . The Superpro ones I fitted are great, takes all the slop and lateral movement out of the front suspension, adds steering weight due to increased castor, less roll, less understeer and no more bunny hopping. Not without some compromise though, they are a bit creaky when cold but quiet down once they warm up. A tad more noise through the suspension due to the poly bushes but no added harshness or vibration in my opinion. I can live with them.
As you found out the rear ARB desperately needs to be swapped out for a decent item on these cars, its a must do mod. Leave it at that and enjoy the change.

I recently upgraded my ARB to the 034 motorsport one and I was very impressed with the difference. I set my one to the firm setting. For the money it is an absolute must IMO.
Audi RS3 8P. APR stage 2+, Milltek exhaust (decat and non resonated), 034 Motorsport ARB, 034 Motorsport air intake, Wagner FMIC, Bilstein B14, OZ Racing Formula HLT, Toyo R888R

I have just put a new anti roll bar on my 8P !!
When I read the posts saying it transforms the car ,, I honestly thought yeh yeh yeh of course it bloody does ???
Let me tell you I should have done it when I bought the car over two years ago !!
I really cant belive how much difference it really does make its brilliant ! and I should have listened to those people on here who know better than I !
If you have not had it done ,,DO NOT HESITATE GET ONE RIGHT NOW !!!
The car corners so flat it should have been built like this !
Apart from two rusted nuts on the drop down link thingy that caused slight irritation
They are so easy to fit ,go get one you wont regret it..

Went out in my friends 8P who had just done this mod. I agree it really does transform the car! Where did you get it from and how much? Awesome GTI in Manchester do them for £202 which is the cheapest I've found so far.

SK
you will not be disappointed mate , if you dont think its worth it when you put it on I'll paint your house !
Make sure you soak the "drop link" nuts in wd40 a few days before you put it on, as mine were completely rusted on and I had to take the car to a exhaust centre to get and air gun on it to free them !
mine is made by,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 034 motorsport and comes with grease nipples on the bushes so they can be easily maintained !

Super lube is the stuff that comes with the ARB. Looks like you can get it off eBay:

How much grease should be applied and what's the periodicy? Will it start squeaking when it's dry?
