Danny, 255's need optional 8.5J ET53 Alloys. The 255 tyre is too wide of a 8.0J rim.

Standard rims are 8.0J ET50.

I believe I was one of the first forum members to fit the 034 bar and have had it on the car a little over two years. If you did not have optional wider front wheels the car was a bit wallowy in the corners and had 225's on the rear so they did not rub in the arches under compression. I say wallow coming from a B7 RS4 with working DRC and updated ARB's on it. On aggressive setting it pretty much dials out understeer and firms the back end up; example on one tight national speed limit roundabout the car would understeer at about 40mph, with 034 installed this went over 65mph before it induced not understeer but oversteer. The only downside is that stiffening up does make it that little bit firmer in ride but is a sacrifice I am prepared to make and is not spine breaking hard as A45 AMG owners must feel.

I have only just had to replace the poly bushes in the last couple of weeks with them being worn so that is 2 years and around 30k miles which given how much bushes are I can live with. I can now put on 235 all round and rotate them midlife so there is a marginal cost benefit as well.

I did think abut an anti-lifting kit to sort out the front end wheel vibration I always used to get and still to a normally imperceptible degree do which would sort the problem out but Hunter GSP9700 road force balancer sorts that issue out for me at least.

I fitted my H&R rear bar before.
Nice straight forward fit using original bush clamps and bolts.
Set to softest setting so far until I do a few miles to see how she feels.

After running the roll bar on the softest setting for nearly 200 miles I'd say it makes a noticeable difference in the way the car behaves when cornering.
The car doesn't unsettle as easy and generally makes the car feel much better.
So yesterday I changed it to the stiffest setting and I'd say this is the one to be on,
Car handles better again and suits my driving style perfectly
So far no negative points in fitting the H&R rear bar apart from having to grin all the time.

Same with an 034 Motorsport. Running the ARB in the firmest setting suits the RS3 the best. If anyone is running the stock ARB you are missing out so much.

Can confirm also the 034 with maximum settings is a joy to drive now, a cracking investment and not to hard to install.

Yeah my H&R one is set to the stiffest setting and the difference is very noticeable.
A very good mod

Apologies for bringing old thread back up.
Was it agreed in the end that the M8x35 longer bolts worked well to replace the ones provided? Also can you buy replacement bushes? If so where from? When people say stiffest setting how does this work?

Yes get the longer 35mm bolts as the supplied ones are too short and don't go into the chassis nuts fully.

Good question on replacement bushes. Might be worth trying Awesome as they sell the bars if not the 034 website although they will have to be shipped from the US.

The bars have 2 sets of holes at the ends where you connect the drop links. The holes right at the the end of the bar are the softer setting as the longer the bar the easier it is to twist it. So go for the other holes for the stiffer setting making the bar shorter and less flexible.

BTW the stiffer setting is the one you want.

Thanks mate. I'll have a look on Awesomes website of failing that email 034. Do they have to be an Allen head on the bolts?

Yeah I would stick with the Allen head bolts as they sit in recesses in the 034 brackets and it would be a biatch getting a spanner or socket on a standard bolt hex head.

Might be worth a mail to Awesome as well as the bushes aren't listed on their website.

Yes I've just emailed both as I couldn't find them on either. The bushes may be ok but I'm buying a ARB second hand so may require replacing. Ok I'll order the ones on eBay then, Is it 2 bolts either side then for mounting or just 1 each end?

4* allen head bolts ( 2* per bracket ). Cant remember if the bar comes with drop link bolts or whether you use the original ones on the car. Either way I know I didn't have to buy any for the ends.

So I have the rear ARB now... Yet to fit it however was wondering are these bushes meant to be greased periodically? If so what grease or only if they start squeaking? Should Audi do them during routine maintenance?

They will need lubricating with some synthetic grease once in a while. The bushes supplied are carbon Urethane and the lube supplied is synthetic grease with PTFE.

As a non standard part Audi might not want to touch them. Knowing the workmanship at most Audi garages you would be better doing this yourself.

Cheers bud.

Probably easier to take the ARB off periodically to grease instead of finding the correct grease nipple connections. Synthetic grease with PTFE - I'm on it (I'm guessing it has to be the putty stuff as appose to spray grease, typically I've got loads of that?)

Super lube is the stuff that comes with the ARB. Looks like you can get it off eBay:

Had a look under the motor this evening to change to the 034 ARB this weekend and only have the one question (for now)
The very ends of the ARB either end that are attached to what looks like a drop link... If these bolts are undone will this drop etc, does it require any support or tensioning when swapping out the bars. I'm hoping it's just going to sit there without moving when the fixing bolt is released.

Nope nothing drops as long as you put the back wheels on some ramps so you can get under the car as you have to do this job with the wheels in contact with the ground.

Jay, do it using the method Duke says above...
The ARB need to go on with the cars suspension under load otherwise it'll squeak and not perform correctly
