I'm going by the difference it made on my S3, even everyday use the difference was very noticeable.
I find my RS3 unsettles fairly easy at the rear.

I have the 034 bar fitted - though it's on the softer of the two settings It makes a substantial difference over the standard item.

However, it's a bit bouncy still. At least it was until I loaded my surprisingly heavy new front discs into the boot to take to my fitter. The added weight plus a bit of fuel, in my case around 30 litres, transforms the car.

I have never been one for carrying more weight than absolutely necessary (F=MA so A=F/M after all) but I'm going to ensure there's at least 50kg hanging over the back axle from now on. Suggest you try that when you get your bar fitted.

Funny I did the same thing with my old discs until I bought a space saver wheel. I thought that be more use in the case of a puncture rather than corroded fubar disc rotors.

More weight over rear axle = more fun time

Oh and Red14: change your bar to the firm setting. Honestly it suits the chassis to a T and is the better of the 2 settings for our cars.

I'm standard. I don't regularly carry loads in the boot other than a full tank of fuel.
I can't say I find the RS3 lacking in its handling.

Am I really missing out on something, by not changing the rear arb?

I don't want to make it so stiff it will become lively at the rear, or start cocking a wheel on bends.

Does the stiffer bar make for a harsher ride / promote rattles? The parcel shelf bounces around enough as it is.

Paul, change it and you'll realise how poor the original Audi ARB really is.

There are no negatives to changing to the 034 bar, no squeaks, rattles, bangs, knocks, wheel cocking or anything else. It just makes the whole car grip & go.

Only a bit more maintenance to regularly re-grease the bushes and most likely change them in a few years or so.

Just out of pure interest what would it do if you upgrade the front ARB too would it make the whole steering stiff.
I do find the RS a little wollowy compared to my old S3

Not that I've tried but I've read there is little to be gained from doing the front ARB. However after just doing my front control arms (or just the bushes) I can highly recommend it. Takes all the wallow out of the front and reduces understeer and front roll.

Awesome are the sole UK dealers for 034 Motorsport, http://www.awesomegt...-25mm-ttrs-rs3/ Sometimes they sell them on eBay which can save the shipping charge.

What tool is used for this fitting bolt on the ARB? I've tried all the 'normal' tools but not fitting quite right?

I now have a spline set... Managed to undo the 4 main spline bolts (M10 towards the centre of the sway bar) however the ones attached to the drop link M6, do these come off as well as they are incredibly tight or is it just a nut & bolt jobby. Can't figure out if the spline needs to come out first then undo nut. Before I end up breaking something.

What year is your car. Mine had normal bolts on the drops. Looks to me like you keep the bolt still using the spline and then turn the bolt with a spanner. The front drop links on mine have this arrangement.

2012... 62 plate. So the spline is connected to the nut in this instance?

Sorry there was a typo in my last post. Hold the bolt still with the spline bit and turn the nut to get it off the bolt.

I am guessing on the back of this is just a domed end of the bolt where the rubber bush of the drop link is.
