OK, OK, OK, OK....
Ordered at 14.56 on the 22nd and fitted, road-tested and evaluated and convinced by 13.05 on the 23rd; not bad going for a 71-year old who had his prostate removed some 14-weeks ago
So BIG, BIG, thanks to Duke3D, P_G, and JayRS3, and Roy, and anyone else who's recommended this 034 Motorsport bar, it's amazingly suitable for the 8P Audi RS3.
As Paul and P_G know I've been toying with this mod for some time but 'our' big 'C' issues have held up play for some time but on Sunday last while toying with classic 'sprint' cars at Curborough and reviewing suspension set-ups I thought stuff it, gotta give it a go - shrouds/pockets and all...
TRUE, the four M8 x 25 long capscrews supplied (pedestals to chassis) are too short; M6 x 35mm long are needed - and fortunately I had those in stock, and in stainless steel, too.
Message to Paul: get well soon and do it! Get the bar and we'll do it...
Was you surprised just how light weight and pointless the OEM ARB is? You may as well not even have one on. The 034 weight alone gives you confidence that it's going to stiffen the rear end.

Cheers John.
Enjoy your 'New' car
Staying with me a looooong time yet, Rob. Just toooo silly to keep changing for the sake of changing; run something 'less' along side and the return to an RS3, any RS3, is just soooo nice...

Mine is the H&R one. Still not bloody fitted. Thinking of sticking it on the hardest setting?
It's so easy to change the settings and evaluate, Rick - providing you've access...
And yes, it's a GRP pit (20-years old now): every hands-on car enthusiast should have one...

Actually Jay, I was! Pathetic really. But then again I'd no real complaint of the RS3's road manners, maybe the way I drive.
Having been hands on with Lotus cars since the late 60's and fitted numerous ARBs, always to the front; it was the reports from others (as mentioned previously) that fed the curiosity and initial impressions are amazingly good. BLUEY's had 255/235 MPSS (39/37 psi front/rear) for 4-years now and with Redstuff front and rear I've no complaint - whatever other Audi I drive or have driven I'm never disappointed getting back into this car.
But next is a run across Wales to the coast for a proper evaluation

I think it's always been that to be fair I've been eying that and secondary cat deletes for a while now
Do both SK-RS3. If the funds allow then just do both
Great but subtle noise sans secondary cats, and improved handling without loss of comfort - OK, been out playing a little more in speed-hump festooooned local roads, tsk! But once out on open-flowing roads then the difference (as ALL have been saying, oh how we don't listen...) is amazing.
Duke3D said it best (post #101) "Enjoy your 'New' car" and he's not wrong...

Come on Rick Lad...
My Mrs could have fitted one by now
Is she free by any chance? I struggle with Lego let alone fitting a vital suspension component to a German car!

Sorry there was a typo in my last post. Hold the bolt still with the spline bit and turn the nut to get it off the bolt.
I am guessing on the back of this is just a domed end of the bolt where the rubber bush of the drop link is.
Interesting Rob: my 2011 8P RS3 drop-link bolts had a 5mm Allen key fitment and not spline; the original pedestal capcrews were M10 spline but 6mm Allen key for the supplied (too short at 25mm long and need to be 35mm long) capscrews; like so:

That's correct. I used some low wider ramps to back the car onto.Am I right in thinking when fitting in the 034 ARB the rear wheels need to be under load ?

Sk
make sure you soak the drop link thingys in wd40 or such like as a lot of people including myself found them a biatch to get off,,,
I had to go to an exhaust centre to get them to use their air gun on them
