What routes would you recommend if I am coming from Manchester way?

Having had a full air intake induction kit on my old tt as well as panel filters on other cars, I totally agree they are pointless and have reached the same conclusion as youI recently looked at drop in panel filters.
I couldn't be bothered with oiled ones. I would throw it away and buy another before cleaning and re-oiling it.
That left the main 2:
Pipercross make a dry filter for circa £35
ITG make one for around £63 that doesn't need oiling and only the occasional wipe when soiled.
Then I looked into paper vs aftermarket discussions.
It is widely argued no filter is going to better a paper air filter for filtration, although aftermarket may last longer, flow better.
In short More flow = requires bigger holes.
Bigger holes ultimately means less filtration.
The surface area of pleated paper is massive compared to foam. One owner unfolded a pleated paper filter on ASN and it was 28ft long.
I decided to stick with OEM paper filter and change more often.
Audi Don't change them until 38,000 miles.
My cars done less than 7.5k in 3 years. Now while it didn't visually need it, I've done it anyway.
Paper for me:
Cheap to replace
No cleaning or oiling required
Arguably better filtration if changed regularly
Won't upset Audi
No need to inform insurance.

I took off a BMC panel filter as I was loosing BHP on the dyno although some report good results with the full PPH redesigned intake which can run any panel filter.

So if it goes **** up you also know who to blame
This is my only concern.....
Last thing I want is a blown prop shaft/gearbox/engine

Nah... Won't happen, very rare
Engine and gearbox problems are rare unless you've tuned a manual TTRS. As for propshaft driveshaft cv joints and brakes call those consumables, massively under speced for the car especially when tuned.

I know your right... I'm just tempting fate... Had a long day so might as well be positive about the car... I must say I read about everyone's problems with breaks with propshafts and what not and can't help but feel like I have lucked out on what I can only say has been a perfect car so far to date. Anyone looking to buy and RS3 after reading some of our posts must want to run a mile.. I know I thought 'what have I done?!' After a bit of reading after purchase. I for one feel like I am falling love with it all over again and looking forward to some great some road trips ahead!Engine and gearbox problems are rare unless you've tuned a manual TTRS. Don't get me wrong the car is great but with a few fundamental flaws. Nothing that can't be fixed come replacement time or if you want to spend some cash earlier. Propshafts cv joints driveshafts and even a spare ecu aren't always as expensive as you might think or Audi would have you believe.

£600 for a APR remap is a discounted price, I also paid around that price. They put 20/30% offers on quite often so either send them a message and ask when are on again or keep watching them on here, usually they also post it on this forum when the offers are on.

Well worth the money even at full price
