Poor Irfy, he lets the BOTB guy use his car to race Archie's tuned A45 AMG, then enthusiastically posts some info and dyno plot on the latest APR map on the forum and ends up getting challenged to a duel! :m0168:

Run what yer brung (RWYB) dates for Aug & Sept at Santa Pod are....

Sat 12th August (next day is a Mini event so expect modded Cooper S's and all sorts to run on the Sat)

Sun 20th August

Sat 16th September (Ford Fest scheduled for next day which means opportunity for plenty of RS owners scalps to be taken on the Saturday :D)

Let's go this Sunday Santa pod! Go go go!

The next RWYB session is actually on Sat 12th Aug, I know you are keen to try out the changes on your car Dan but you'll have to wait another week mate. :D

Availability for August may be a problem for some due to the holiday period, I can probably make the 12th (I think that Steve can too) but it would be good to see some cars with APR , REVO etc also running on the same day for a good comparison. If Irfy can make it, we may even see the latest APR stg 2+ tune hand you your ass on the 1/4 mile run. :P

If the 12th is a go, you should be aware that there is a Mini Fest event on the next day so probaby lots of tuned/modded Mini's will be turning up early to fettle their cars on the Saturday.

According to USC (ultimate street car) there is rwyb all this weekend lol. So I am going to be testing it out if I get a chance.

I went by the dates on the Santa Pod web site, its does say that they reserve the right to change the timing of events though.

EDIT: Just seen in the small print for this coming weekend that the RWYB will be open during the Ultimate street car event over the weekend. Probably gonna be heaving though.

I'll pencil in the 12th. What time slots are there as the later the better for me tbh

Gates open at 8.00am but the track usually doesn't start running until around 9.30am, entry is £10 each person. The start tme for running can vary though if there has been some recent rain and the track is a bit damp. You'll need a sign on sheet which you can do on the day, or download it from the SP website and complete it in advance (best option). It's £25 for as many runs as you like, if the car runs over 110mph (which it will) you will need to have a crash helmet. Some days it can be busy and the wait between runs can be as much as 30 to 40mins or more, other days it may only be 10 or 15 mins between runs.

So it looks as if we may have cars with MRC, Litchfield and APR tunes, do we have any other RS3 owners with REVO or cars with other tunes (boxes for example) who can come along on the 12th?

Where can you get a crash helmet?

Halfords are a good place to start.... expect to pay around £35 to £40 quid.

I think you can also hire one at the venue but probably cost just as much.

I bought mine from the venue on the day, £45 i think or £40.  You'll be able to get cheaper though.

I'm excited for this.  For the record, I've been promised £1000 if Irfys car beats 11.55 1/4mile time haha

Crikey Dan, its getting a bit serious now, A duel first and now wagers, whats next? Racing for pink slips (I guess thats reg docs in the UK )

Somebody is confident that the 11.55 wont be beaten.  Better hope that there isn't a 20mph tailwind! :D
