You may be right but I’m getting a deal on the manifold and everything will be in place if I go big turbo at some point. Currently all of the turbos I’ve found for 800+ have worse lag than the hybrids. I’m hoping with the TTE777 I will get 700hp and decent drivability. I won’t even consider changing from a hybrid until I see how it drives because I may feel it’s plenty fast enough and the best balance between power and reliability.

I’m also going to do the rear Wavetrack, lightweight subframe, some body mods and weight reduction and see if I even need to go further or not.

With your list of mods I'm almost certain you will get 700 or at least very close on 98ron, it is a shame we don't have e85 readily available as it is a bunch more power and you can bring in power and torque much sooner with a built engine.

I’ve got a set of Ohlins for sale if you fancy some handling to match all that power.

I decided to keep the mag shocks & lowered adjustable springs for now, but do the subframes, bushes, arb etc. I may go coil over one day if I go for lightweight brakes, but the budget is pretty well battered for just now lol.

Later in the year I may look at updating my fuel lines and having an e85 map. Probably won’t do that until after I do a few lightweight mods and get a set of semi slicks or slicks to do a few 1/4 runs.

I’d be happy with 20hp to be honest. It’s also one more mod done for if I go further in the future. I’m still thinking of going NOS and staying with the hybrid. Instead of the IROZ route to go for big power gains across the Rev range. I’d have it mapped for about 100hp to come in around 2500 and fade out by 4500 in-line with the torque increase. I did this on my RX7 and it made it super drivable and big improvement on the 0-60.

Stu.

There's no comparison between Wankel rotary & normal 4 stroke engines as they run totally different including power/torque delivery.

I totally agree on that and was just saying how a mapped NOS system can be used just to increase the low down and mid range. Previously I’ve had NOS on a NA 4 pots, 2 turbo charged 4 pots and a supercharged V6. The latter was a 200hp programmable, twin wet system with a direct injector per cylinder. It’s fairly simple to program NOS to assist a turbo car with fast spoiling and covering any shortfalls in power. It works great for big turbos but I don’t want to rely on having full bottles to have a drivable car.

Only good as long as the bottle last so great for drag racing + more weight to carry around..

I guess we have to agree to disagree on this one. I ran NOS in road cars for over 10 years solid and believe it’s a great edition which has sadly lost its popularity apart from as you say drag racing.
If you have a 20 pound bottle, a rule of thumb is 20 x 10 second shots for a 100hp system. If it’s mapped to build to full power by 2750 rpm and fade off to probably 40hp over the full torque point, you will get around 35 shots per bottle. That doesn’t sound a lot but it’s instantly armed at the flick of a switch and massively increases power in the low/mid range where turbos are not at their best. Weight of a typical 20 pound bottle kit is about 17kg which isn’t a lot.

Well I can’t say I’m ever that worried about having to conform. I appreciate being able to get advice and see what is working for other owners but I’m also happy to try other things.

Well it goes in on Monday for the work to start now all the parts are ready. I’ve been told when I get it back it will be on a low boost tune and I have to take it back for the high boost tune after 1000 miles. As I’m working from home getting the miles done is a bit of a pain at the moment, currently doing 300 a month.

Very exciting, how long do they expect it to take?

Probably 3 weeks and then back again for couple of days after I’ve driven 1000 miles. I’ve waited 2 months for all the parts to arrive, with items like the Gen 3 full Eventuri air intake and plenum chamber have only just got here. Luckily Regal are the UK Verkline dealer so had the subframe and suspension parts on the shelf.
I’ve waited a long time to do this, partly being able to afford to do a proper job but also waiting for the Daza engine to be out long enough see the best available parts to use and see other peoples issues.

Great stuff! would love to see it later in the year at some of the shows maybe?

I will 100% be going to a few shows later this year if they go ahead. I’m getting close to finding out if the LMS bonnet vent set is a possibility. Next week a race team in Germany are doing some measurements for us to see if it’s possible.

It’s finally in the garage and I’ve been told the engine and gearbox are now out. Currently I’m driving round in one of our company Fiestas. We have we some brand new 1.0 turbos but luckily I’m driving the 2 year old 1.5 Tdci which is a decent drive regarding torque to weight ratio and surprisingly it’s better on fuel than the newer lower emission models.
