I’m just coming up to 3 years old on my daza saloon and have decided I want to run more power but make it as reliable as possible.
So far I’m on lowered adjustable springs with the mag ride shock and forged OZ tyres with Mich rubber. I also run stage 2 with the forge IC, K&N filter, Forge air box pipe & turbo elbow, with 100 cell cat & Miltek down pipe and the Audi sports exhaust.

I want to go more power without going big turbo and sacrificing real life drivability on the road. For this reason I am looking at either the TTU600 or the TTE600 race with the waste-gate mapping.

I can see plenty of builds have gone 650hp without an issue but there’s still the chance I could bend a rod or worse. For this reason I’m going built engine with forged bottom end and at least the use of titanium springs etc. I have ordered a CTS throttle body and a set of forge IC pipes.

Does anyone have an opinion whether or not I’d be best off fitting a HPFP and so which one for the daza engine? I would also appreciate any good ideas or anything I may have missed. Thanks

You 100% need the HPFP or you won`t get enough fuel .

I’ve seen the Autotech internals but heard there has been some fitting issues on the daza version. There is a Loba one and APR as far as I have found so far. No idea which is better but the APR one is really expensive.

I`d ask whoever is remapping it. Ben @ TTU did mine. No complaints.

Stu.

As Raptor said speak to your chosen tuner in regards the upgrade fuel pump.

Yes I will ask, just seeing if anyone has personal experience. On a previous car I updated the pump to the tuners choice and later they changed what they recommended due to owners having issues. I’ve been told about some issues with Autotech internals not fitting as well on the Daza and I’d use Autotech on my Rocco without any issues. I have read APR is a good choice but they are mega expensive. I also read recently MRC sourced a Lobo one for someone’s build.

I now have the answer to the HPFP and having spoke to Si at TTE UK, they are not required due to using the 980cc injectors. Further research shows over 600hp the spray pattern isn’t as good on OEM injectors so hopefully this is the best route for my set up. If I go further I may still need to look at a bigger pump but need to see if the fuel delivery can meet the requirements of the turbo at high boost.

After a few changes the full build spec is now:

Mahle Motorsport Forged Piston and Titanium Nitrided Rods Kit
ARP 2000 Con-Rod Bolts
ACL Race Bearings
ARP high boost head studs
Supertech ss intake and Inconel exhaust valves with keepers
Bartek titanium valve springs with retainers and stem seals

TTE700 Turbo
Forge turbo inlet elbow, ported by Sharp Motorsport
CTS throttle body (56% bigger than stock)
Sharp Motorsport 980cc MPI Injector Upgrade Set
DVX Hi-Flow Evo Turbo Outlet Pipe
Forge Boost Hoses Including Clamp Kit
Snow Performance Water Meth Injection Kit
NGK Racing spark plugs
Forge Oil Catch Can Kit
Stage 3 switchable mapping with DSG map

All parts are ordered and the build should start in about 3 weeks time.

Things have moved on a bit with the build prep. First I wasn’t going to able to get a TTE700 for 30 days after them receiving my turbo. This would have meant 7 weeks with no car which I couldn’t do. I was looking into going GTX3582 but Si from TTE managed to get hold of a TTE777 unit. So apart from a better turbo I need to get a better DV and I have opted for a front Wavetrack diff to get the power down and provide more reliability.

Looking like a epic build to come from that parts list. Who is doing the build? Race developments?

I am getting it built at Regal where the rest of the work is being done. They have a race engine builder booked especially for my engine in their clean room. They replacing all of the other Audi parts like then timing chain and tensioners. The only original parts that will be left are the cams & crank which should be perfect at 16k miles.

Well the 034 DSG catch can is a no go due to 12 week lead time, so now getting a black anodised IE one from IROZ.

Also decided to go for a full gen 3 Eventuri air intake with the 4 inch turbo elbow. This means I will have a Forge rear air pipe & turbo elbow to sell that have only done 500 miles and like new.

There’s been a few cases of fuel starvation when using hybrids that were not even running 700hp. For that reason and to keep reliable I’m going for a lpfp as well.

https://sillyrabbitm...-upgrade-1.html

This one is ecu controlled instead of using a switch and switches the second pump at a set boost level. With this and the 980cc injectors on the hp side there’s no way I’m going to run out of fuel.

Stu.

One of the causes of fuel starvation with mapped/hybrids on the FL platform is people running the tank low on petrol, MRC advice people not to let this happen.

I wouldn't bother as Dell has mentioned it is almost always because of people running the tank down and then going for times etc which these cars cant handle. MRC mapping it?

There have been a couple of RS3's in the states with TTE777s that have experience low fuel pressure issues on the street and SRM although they sell them don't recommend using their GTX3582 over 700 without one fitted.

Regal will be doing the mapping as they will be building the engine. However I will be taking it up to MRC to do a dyno run and It would be good to see the difference between their dynos.

I've decided to change my Audi sports exhaust for the gen 2 80mm Miltek cat back system. It s only 4mm bigger than the gen 1 but that calculates to 10% bigger pipe volume and no flat bits in the exhaust profile for increased flow.

I would at least hold on with the lpfp as 034 has an option in the works and another that I cant mention.

If those RS were running on E85 they will need to run more fuel I believe.

I messaged Si at TTE and he did suggest an IROZ lpfp.

It’s a hard call because I will be close to the limit with the mods I’m getting and the 777. After spending a massive amount I will kick myself if I don’t do something and get an issue.
