Awesome. Hope it all goes good mate. I first chose romain also but didn't have enough data for him on rs3s..
So went for stijn recommended by other RS3
owners..

Will you be attending any pod events.

Interesting you went for the id1050s....im still good with the 980cc but will probably upgrade to
Id1300s later on..

I saw an independent test on various injectors on a US site and Injector Dynamics came top, with the highest result for dialling in at low boost. I have the Sharps Motorsport 980cc myself and I’m sure they are fine but i heard not as good due to be altered standard ones and not bespoke designed. The ID1050X are 1062cc max Which is nearly 10% more. Also had the highest grade of corrosion resistant internals.
Romaine done quite a few RS3s and TTRSs recently and did the Eventuri car that managed 211mph at VMax. Hopefully there more info available for the TTE855s now because plenty of TTE77s have been tuned on Syvecs. Si from TTE said a TTRS in the UK with a TTE855 is being tuned this week so it will be good to compare against the MTR tune.

Yes I will attend some events for sure. I will probably get some lightweight brakes, smaller wheels & slicks and a Haldex controller. The rear Verkline kit will be fitted as soon as the rear Wavetrack is ready around May. I have KW V3 coil overs being ordered tomorrow.

As my engine is imminently going back in I decided to get the Racingline engine and gearbox mounts fitted. I’m going stage 1 on the engine mounts which are billet but with poly inserts. I had the virtually solid club sport ones on my Scirocco R and they were horrible.
To match the KW V3 coil overs we are fitting the adjustable top mounts and adjustable drop links front and rear. Weirdly Racingline only make the front drop links and Verkline only make the rear drop links.

I found out about this today and thought it is worthy of being upgraded.

The solution looks pretty good but I’d welcome any thoughts on this:

Bit of a gimmick in my opinion as the mount is not the issue but the prop design itself, spoke to a couple of companies about building me a beefier prop and will go down that road if/when my prop breaks.

I’ve done a bit of digging and IROZ used custom prop shafts the the company below as well as updating the carriers. They can even make carbon versions which if strong enough would save loads of weight & energy. I’m sure they would be super expensive.

Not really interested in what iroz are doing, the places I've spoken to are in the UK and very reasonable price wise with props capable of handling 1200bhp+. Everyone like to slam RS tax on this platform and charge over the odds...

There' no denying they have made great progress in their drag times though, even though they don't get it right al the time. I totally agree on the RS tax which is reflected in things like drop links which are fairly cheap due to working on most cars on the same platform, No doubt they would be twice the price if they only fitted the RS3 and TTRS..

What company are you looking at for a prop shaft because 1200hp sounds spot on with future proofing in mind?

A bit of progress:

My engine is fully built and ready to go.

Suspension if all done, including the new coil over, drop links and braces. I should get to pop in next week and take some photos.

TTE855 will be arriving the week after next.

Now need to book it into RaceCal for the tuning which is about a 6 week lead time. I will be attending Simply Audi with it even if I haven't finished all the mapping because I will still have to do 1000 miles running it in again.

Started wrapping my down pipe but the stainless steel cable ties in the kit were too short for the turbo end. Good old eBay meant I will have the same type but linger delivered on Monday.
The titanium wrap is no problem to apply and doesn’t need to be wet first. When you pull it tight it is easy to make shape around irregular shapes like the hanging mounting point.

I wasn’t happy with the way it went around one of the bends and started again. This time I got it even tighter and put zip ties on as I wound it. This is one itchy job and worth wearing a set of overalls or old clothes to do it. No easy way of going around the o2 sensors other than covering them and cutting out holes with a Stanley knife and sharp scissors. Because of the all the bends I only needed 1 layer due to the tight overlap on the inner radius.

All sorted and ready to drop back tomorrow.A91D4B15-7D0E-471C-9D58-6B41E5854FB0.jpeg

A very neat job, and yes, horribly itchy. Well, it was back in 1995 when I did it last.

Managed to get a couple suspension pics. Due to upgrading from the adjustable height springs I did not have the correct bearings for the top and new oem ones were fitted. When fitting the adjustable top mounts they had to use spacers to stop part of the coil overs touching. All in all fairly easy job and will provide some extra adjustability when getting set up.
I couldn’t take pics from the top yet due to the ramp being up. Half my car is nearly sat covered up underneath. It’s been confirmed the TTE855 will arrive next Tue/Wed and it’s booked to have the engine/box installed next week.

That’s not good if I supposed to be going there unless they have a new one.

I never realised until now that an RS3 can’t have a true coil over rear suspension like the front, but it’s obvious it wouldn’t have space without major work. Surprising as my Scirocco R did. Sorry the picture is on its side to which I have no idea why. Second pic is the new rear arb.

I have decided to upgrade the brakes and go for carbon ceramic front & rear. I was looking at the Racingline kit but they only do the fronts and they do not fit the Saloon.

I ended up going to BG Developments who were recommended to me by AP Racing UK after stating they don't do carbon ceramic brakes either. The kit will be comprising of the following:

Front - AP Racing 6 pot Radical 2 lightweight callipers with 390mm carbon ceramic drilled discs from Midland Brakes, lightweight black bells and custom brackets.

Rears - OEM callipers with 255mm carbon ceramic drilled discs from Midland Brakes, lightweight black bells and custom brackets.

Uprated braided brakes lines and brake fluid (TBD)

I won't get the parts for a couple of months but before I fit them I will take off the old callipers and discs and take pics of them being weighed so to show exactly what weight saving they make.
