I collected my car and now doing the running in miles. Everything going great so far and it feels absolutely pin point on the corners.

No time to fit my body kit so I have decided to do that myself one weekend.

I’m really happy with the R8 steering wheel buttons which was another good tip from on here. Best part of being on the forum is when owners share tips for the good and the bad things they have tried.

Finally fitted the oem carbon engine cover after being modified due to the multipoint WMI. Bar Tec plenum chamber fitted and the oem carbon inlay. I was thinking of powder coating it but I actually like the metal finish now it’s on. Also fitted the new RacingLine caps.

Well in for a health check before the weekend and so far all good. Oil & filter as part of full service to keep my record up to date and 2nd MOT done. Just need to get another 600 miles done over the next month before mapping.

I’m 650 miles in now and it’s running spot on. The chassis and suspension modifications are great and this evening I went out for a couple of hours round the New Forest B roads. It is like a totally different car now and turns into the corners precisely without effort. I thought the handling was fine before on the adjustable height springs and mag ride shocks but it now feels like someone has removed a ton of weight from the front. I guess the chassis makes the most difference but all the other mods and Wavetrack together make it hard to say which upgrade is the best.

One thing that surprised me is the ride is firm but not too hard like my Scirocco was after modding. I thought adding the engine & gearbox mounts with the dog bone mount was going to be a step too far but it is good enough to drive as a daily. Let’s see what it’s like when I’m not restricted to 10 psi.

Lol my bad should have known Hp was horsepower I looked up hp to see what the real meaning was and found this:Horsepower is actually a completely made-up measurement. Back in the late 1760s, steam engine pioneer James Watt wanted to compare the effectiveness of his engines against the horse that previously did their work.Watt defined one horsepower as the equivalent of the energy expended by a single horse raising 33,000 pounds of water one foot in the air from the bottom of a 1,000 foot deep well in 60 seconds.Well you can all work out much water you can pull up from a well which is really useful. 😂

I’m now 1300 miles since the built engine went back in and it’s running spot on.
I drop it back off in the morning for fuel lines, injectors, filter, Syvecs, flex fuel sensor and exhaust cut out wiring.
RaceCal will be loading a base program before it goes for the full tuning.
Also Peron will be sending the unit to load the base program for the Stage 4 DSG software this week..

Everything is in and running with the base program on the Syvecs. Romain will hopefully log on and do his checks tomorrow and I can collect the car next week.
The Syvecs replaced the main ecu and has 3 boxes and I think the older one was an add on to the main ecu.

Sadly I’m too busy at work over the next 10 days to collect it but at least it will have a couple of road tests to make sure everything is ok before the main tuning day.

Popped down today to see where it’s at snd everything is done including the exhaust motorised cut outs. Oh my word when they are open is sounds like aN R8 with a race exhaust. You can adjust how much they are open to have it as close to standard as you want.

Body kit parts are being fitted this week and just the final mapping day to go.

If anyone is going I will be at Players event at Goodwood on the 18th & 19th.

No not yet. They are waiting till the final tuning is done and the body kit parts are fitted. I’m also going to take my rear wheels to a specialist wheel machinist to have 3mm removed from the offset as catches slightly if I go over a big bump which does my head in. Well the state of the roads these days does my head in.

Stu.

Try redjusting your suspension instead machining metal of the your wheel's,add more rebound damping or ride height.

Tried the settings on the coil overs already and adjusted the height but still catches. I think I could have done with the next offset down but went with the one stated by OZ. Really annoying because it took nearly 3 months for them to arrive and I’d have had to send the old ones off first. Also the I’ve had them ages and didn’t know they were catching until I got to the running in stage.
