Mapping started last Friday at Devil with Romain from RaceCal.
First couple of hours were spend do checks and generally setting up the Syvecs before starting runs. Managed to get up to 634 on low boost and no additional timing but it started getting a bit heat soaked.
The plan is still to get the best power on fuel only and run the WMI as a back up only on the high maps, still using the 3D controller.

I’m booked back in for August as nd currently running a very safe 300hp map. The stage 4 DSG map goes in this week and I’ve decided to swap out the Forge intercooler. It was great even in the heat up to 600hp but then the temp rose too quickly. Shame as it’s only been on the car for 3000 miles, but I’m sure someone will be happy with it at a reduced price. The Eventuri RS3 that did 211mph was running a one off CFS intercooler and luckily Regal have got them to agree to make us another one. Eventuri tried other ICs which weren’t good enough and settled on this one. One issue is it’s too big to have a crash bar but I guess the answer is don’t crash lol.

In the meantime I’m happily driving around with 600hp and drivability as good as oem without even getting the DSG map yet. Plenty more to come but no rush.

Do you have a vid of you launching it? Everytime I launch mine its bonkers and that's on a standard car. Yours must be insane.

When I was stage 2+ with about 530hp it was brutal but as yet I’ve not launched with 600hp. I waiting till it’s all finished and the TVS stage 4 DSG map is done. This will be bespoke to match the final logs and should make it safer. Also I didn’t have a Wavetrack or the subframe & suspension before.

I spoke to someone with a Golf R who ended up stuffing his engine due to a WMI failure. 100% made up my mind I will not run a WMI dependent map for more power. Whatever I get to on a reasonable boost lvl will be it and the WMI will be there as a back up only for cooling with no additional timing added. This build is for more power but I’m also doing everything possible to make it more reliable.

The CFS intercooler will be getting shipped next week so when it arrives I will take photos of it next to the oem and Forge ones.

CFS intercooler on route. First picture I have when completed. I am looking forward to comparing to the OEM and Forge ones and will post the pictures with measurements.

Shiny, shiny. Looks very much like the ones they use in the states from IROZ and RACE3. Should work really well.

Probably a similar size because I know the IROZ 1000hp core is also too big to have a crash bar. Really interested to size it against the oem and Forge ones.

The iroz 1000 core, race 3 core and stm core all work with the Audi USDM  Crash Bar (8V5-807-109-D)as it has a little extra clearance compared to the UK variant. The US bar can be purchased for TPS with above part number and costs around £200-250, If you go above 3.8" thickness on the core then you need a skinny bar which is offered by race 3. SRM which uses a CSF core rated to 1000bhp also fits with the US bar. Left a few links below

Thanks for the information. I think the one I’m getting is the CFS core with the SRM tanks, but as yet not sure if it is exactly the same core or not. The only thing I know is it’s the exact same core as the prototype one used on the Eventuri RS3. Either way it’s going to be at least 1000hp rated and better than the Forge one I have currently.

It has arrived but I’m not able to see it for 2 weeks due to work. Being fitted on the 5th ready for driving to Eddy Brooke Racing on the 8th.
