It should be applied to all vehicles that register a complaint regardless of age or mileage. That was what was said by Stephen Rail of Quattro Gmbh but was said before the fix was first released in the UK when all of the cars would have been in warranty. Complain to Audi UK and copy him in if need be.

It is only on complaint as stated above. I'd respectfully suggest you go to another dealer then if you have provided them with the Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) / Technical Product Information (TPI) code 47i6 and they still know nothing about it questions should be being asked.
The revised setup may still squeal after a while but at least you'll have new discs pads and calipers that will work in the wet.
Where are you based?

Hi the 47i6 is not a recall, its not an update, or offered freely.
It is only offered on (sucessful) complaint, and usually has to be demonstrated you have the trigger symtoms. Some dealers are more forthcoming than others. Often Audi UK have to intervene.
They wont just fit it to every RS3. Yet others like John have had multiple sets.

Help please.
A year ago I had an issue with my brakes (i have commented on previous threads/posts) where they reckoned the floating brake discs had moved. They couldnt get the new pads in so Audi UK asked them to strip the system and then replace calipers, discs and pads.
My car went in for front pads and a cv joint yesterday and I got a call saying that they cannot physically get the new pads in. The head tech recalled a car coming in with the same issue (I reminded them that it was mine). No doubt they will stip and replace all component parts again.
What I am worried about is that the car is out of warranty and there appears to be a fundemntal issue with the brakes that has now happened twice. What do i do next time i need new pads? Will Audi simply sort this out every time for ever? Am I meant to accept that my £40K+ car has had non stop brake issues since new.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance
Matt

Is there not another Audi dealer near you that you could go to??
I **think** Audi officially calls it a "campaign" so campaign 47i6 should bring up the details at your Audi dealer service desk (but obviously not at Audi Derby!!!).
Note - as mentioned already, it wasn't a campaign they acted on as routine - you had to complain about the braking issue before they would act on it....

A message on Audi UK's Facebook page has previously got someone calling me directly within the hour in relation to brake issues. You should not be paying for diagnostics for known brake issues or for repeat failures I would also suggest to Audi UK putting the new RS3 out with 8 pot calipers and ceramics as an option is public admission that the brakes on the RS3 are inadequate.
I have direct contact details for someone helpful and I think reasonably senior in Audi UK if your still not getting anywhere feel free to PM me. I am being told mine is the only RS3 in the country that has had squeal from multiple sets of 47i6 brake kits. This thread alone and the number of people that have devised there own solution suggest this isn't true of people have given up on Audi.

You ain't alone in having had multiple 'new' sets of brake discs & pads, each time I had them renewed the squeal still was there.
Just changed all my pads Again to Yellowstuff on the recommendation of EBC.
Have you had chance to try them yet Sean?

I realise don't doubt or underestimate this. I have just probably moaned more about it as I have persisted with Audi's 'remedy'. Others particularly those who have put their hand in there pocket have more likely had more success than I have.

True. This is set number 6 tho! Even the bloke at Audi said that they need to get it sorted once and for all because every 6-9 months I am getting £3K worth of calipers, discs and pads. There is clearly a problem if something is physically moving/bending and preventing them being able to get the pads into their fitment resulting in an entire brake system change each time.
