Not so easy in Central London and every time I use the car properly / brake hard the discs warp or the car brakes. Insert broken driveshaft / cv joint / prop shaft here.

What a piece of sh1t seriously never again buying an Audi again.

Paul I've been offered free ceramics on a new RS3 so long as I take a £26k hit on the not fit for purpose car I currently have!! WTF??

They won't fix the problem on that disc on that Caliper.

Lots of options to go aftermarket on a capable disc that allows you to run a suitable pad (even OEM) pad disc choice is important don't just take the advice of somebody who's only got that compound on the shelf....it's a potent car...take the time to take some advice and make the pad fit your driving style.

No need to take a 26k hit on a problem that is only going to cost another £700 to fix over what you'd pay Audi for not fit for purpose components. The car is worth investing in, what's to say they won't have the same issues on the 8V if your p1s5ed off now you would be then.

Or just put R8 ceramics on your RS3. Cost you £3k. Box up your OEM stuff and sell the ceramics for £2.5k when you're finished with them and put Oem stuff back on.

There's a couple of guys done it. I'd do it a little differently than they would on an RS3 but it's not difficult.

I have a token deposit on one but Audi are not prepared to do much of a deal on one so I'm not giving them any more money.

daveb1970 I already have some alternative pads to try, was hoping Audi would supply a new set of discs for them but I suspect these will have there own issues and I'll be contacting you for a proper setup capable of some track and autobahn use after I kill this setup over the summer.

Here you go, let them get out of this.Attached File  2033527.pdf   378.15K   49 downloads

This is the TPI (technical Product Information) that every dealer has access to via their on-line HST system.

Its function (purpose) is to set out the operations that need to be undertaken if the customer complains about XYZ

The dealer has to refer to this before any warranty or goodwill work is undertaken across the board.

If only I had this at the time of my complaint...great PDF....however cant see any VAG logos, etc on this so if a Dealer questioned its genuineness then I think we might be stuck....but nonetheless I am aware some dealerships are more welcoming than others!

>>>  Dealer questioned its genuineness then I think we might be stuck..<<<

The TPI is from Audi's own dealer portal, there is no questioning that Audi can nor would do regarding it being genuine, any workshop controller would recognise it straight away.

My car went in today to Manchester Audi for an oil change and health check...they told me my front pads are 90% worn....I couldn't stop laughing...lol.... I got them changed less than 4 months ago! ....he then said it would only cost £551 inclusive of VAT to get them changed.....oh dear....

I've been a Stafford Audi fan/user since 2010, and have persuaded many others to both purchase and have cars serviced there, however, I check both BEFORE the car is delivered for Service and immediately again AFTER service.

Following the 2nd and 3rd warranty/service on my RS3 I have had to rectify careless (screws missing) errors myself; ok, Stafford Audi would have rectified them had I taken the car back to them but both were issues that just should NOT have happened.

Both the A2 and TT I own have FULL Stafford Audi Service Records but from now on they'll have MOTs and service done locally by an enthusiastic and reputable engineer (Karl Fisher Autos) I've worked with and trust 100% and his name will appear in the Service record.

Not surprisingly further to BLUEY's next and last Audi warranted service she too will have her MOT and service done by Karl Fisher Autos and his name will appear in the Service record.

I like Stafford Audi lots and would recommend anyone and everyone to use their establishment but as with everything else in life a degree of caution should be employed and if you require absolute trust in you cars servicing then you need to find someone who has the technical nous and really wants to provide you and your car with the best possible service.

I started a thread on this a loooong time ago and there are guys out there I wouldn't let near any one of my cars with a rag let alone a spanner in their hand.

Here comes the brake squeal again.....................

Mate its inevitable....its a shame but the RS3 is a motor filled with flaws...although I love it....I am making do with mine for now....it seems like every member has had to suffer an Engine, Brake, Knock related issue and rather than complaining to Audi about it, what in actual fact consoles me is having each other on here to talk about problems and truly knowledge share...

Hows this...my car is booked in with Bolton Audi at the end of the month for new front pads and discs which I am paying for and they have personally said if the problem is not rectified then they will install new front brakes FOC!....

I feel for you mate I really do because I know how f***ing embarrassing it can be! flooring it in a narrow side street...hearing the lovely sound and then hitting the brakes and being reminded about s**t I'm driving a once £50K car with squeaky brakes! FML!
