I collect my PFL RS3 next week coming from a TTE470 MK7 Golf R. It cannot come quick enough. The detail in this thread is brilliant and I read it all in one seating!

Hi Dub - In the dry I would think your TTE470 R would be faster than your new RS3 wouldn't it?

Hi Dub
I nearly went the TTE route on my Sirocco R and thought they were great kits (maybe the best in quality). I do think the 5 cylinder lump is better and sounds so good, especially tuned.
I would love to see the potential of a fully built engine with titanium valves springs and Tuscan rods etc. I am sure this engine has the potential to go beyond 700hp if the gearbox can handle it.

Come on then spill the beans...... :-)
Still waiting on a vital set of parts to be made and delivered.
Looking at the end of Feb for delivery.
I’ll spill the beans once everything has arrived and build commences.

Majority of outstanding parts were delivered last week, build will be commencing this month hopefully. Still waiting on some other items but they should be ready over the next week or so.

What with changes in project direction, lead-times on custom parts and some quite life changing personal challenges, 2018 has been quite a rollercoaster.
Anyway..... let’s get down to business!
So, I had previously alluded to going a bit mental with Stage 3 and that ended up with the decision to pull the engine and forging it. The main reason for this was the fact that (at that point) I had decided I’d be keeping this car and wanted to remove any limitations the stock engine would have, opening up options for more extreme levels of power upgrades..... should I wish to change goals at a later date.
Many of you may say “But these engines are taking 700 bhp, what type of power are you looking at then?!” I’m a believer of making sure a package is fit for purpose. Sure, stock engines may be taking x bhp, but how much is wear being accelerated at higher levels of tune? I’d rather invest upfront and then have more options open to me.
I’ll divulge the full spec of the engine soon in a more detailed update but effectively I’m running Litchfield custom spec Capricorn forged pistons, custom spec Arrow rods and a modified head. Engine is built and about to go back in the ‘hole’ once it’s been run in on the engine dyno.
Watch this space.

Engine is back in the hole and final fabrication work is being finished on the turbo kit. The ‘robotic’ welds on the manifold look amazing.
As you guys know I like to test and get my own data using my car....
To assist with this a whole range of blowers have been ordered.
GTX3576
GTX3582
GTX3584 (1000bhp capable 🤣)
I also have access to a couple of hybrids but we’ll see how things progress.
Can’t wait to get this to a position over the next few weeks where I can start testing and start writing up all the detail of what’s been done.... and how the car performs and drives with these different turbo’s.

So.... this is a GTX35XX GEN2 GT3584RS compatible kit.
GTX3576R is capable of up to 750bhp
GTX3582R is capable of up to 850bhp
GTX3584RS is capable of up to 1000bhp
Project 9 start's here. Time to flex this built engine.

Any upgrades on the transmission Shaun.
Bar DSG calibration nothing else yet.... got other things to focus on like my secondary injection kit that is being made.
One step at a time.... 76 on initially and then see how things go. Need to see where we’re at with torque on that blower first and see where the fuel system limits are.

Litchfield have a boost pipe to fabricate which should be done by early next week. Hopefully it will be put on the dyno towards the end of next week to finish off the running in and start mapping on the baby turbo to begin with.
