Steve

Price for one £80 for DS against £180 for DS 2500 as for performance the DS work from 0/ 560' we're the DS2500 work from 0/600'.

These specs are from the Ferodo web site.

Dell.

Dell, i'm struggling to find where it quotes those ranges?
All I can see for the ds performance is that they say they work from cold and DS2500 20-500 degrees?

I stand corrected, why they can't list the 8P fitment i don't know..
I notice from your other post with the pic of the pads that they have a wear sensor, different plug coupler I guess so would need modding?

Matt

Old wear sensor plug grafted onto new pads using a soldering iron, heat shrink then a cut & shut job done !

Or old plug soldered as a short then fitted so not using the low pad warning indictor.

Or there is that Dell

I think by the time I’d reached Ferodo pads on the 8p I’d well and truly had enough.

So just put them in and forewent the sensor soldering.

Yes because the 8V Ferodo pads are 2 wire items just the wrong connector, now I seem to remember the pads I bought when I did the 8P only had a single wire I think (could be wrong) and the 8P has 2 wires.

Yes your correct mate the 8P has 2 wires to form a close loop which is broken when either pad gets low & touch the disc.

The 8P sensor is the replaceable type & not build in unlike the 8v.

That’s why Dell it’s been a few years since I’ve dabbled with 8P pads

Yes I remember now the EVO X pads had built in wire into friction material, where as the Audi pads and Brembo /Yellowstuff have the notch cutout (looks like something else) in the back plate that a seperate sensor wire with the plastic head clips into.

I'm not worried about the sensor like that as currently have coded it out via VCDS.
Was just wondering if it could be reinstated when I change pad. Sounds like the wiring isn't compatible..

Was that from whom Sean says to contact? I see on the net they're usually around £170 so that's a brilliant price.

Two different pads Fivepotfan used a standard Ferodo pad which was a very good price
Then I think he moved onto the DS which I was touting from Trevor at £250. (8V = 8pads)

In my opinion there is not that much between them once warmed up. The DS Performance pad takes a couple of stops when cold before they feel 100% but I am running these with the REVO/Alcon disc upgrade.

I discovered the Ferodo Premier's after taking Doug at MRC out for some live data plotting in my car. On the third circuit of the MRC test route my brakes were making a terrrible noise and overheated the discs badly. Doug didn't want to sit next to me any longer and after we got back to the workshop he disappeared into their stock shelves and came out with a box of the Premier pads and said try these. Apparently they use them for track days on their project cars with no issues.
