What aftermarket pads have people tried? Ive currently got ebc yellows on a car that ive just brought which is stage 2 power wise, and the pads just seem to fade almost immediately after/during a hardish press. Ive always found ebc pads to be total junk in the past. Has anyone tried another pad that they would recommend? I’ve seen ferrodo ds2500’s for them which I’ve heard are sposed to be good on other cars. Gotta be honest for the size of them and how fancy they look the brakes are crap.

Ferodo DS2500 for track & fast road or just for road use Ferodo premier or DS but using the Mitsubishi Evo 5/10 pad 😊

Having used EBC red im now using Ferodo premier which are very good in performance & very cheap for a non performance brake pad 👍

There the same Brembo caliper as ours so another way of sourcing good quality aftermarket brake pads mate 😊

They don't have the wear pad sensor so you just short out the plug on the wiring loom using the old brake pad sensor plug so the low pad light dont come on just as I have.

I have tried EBC red and was not impressed.

Like Dell I changed to Ferodo Premier and so far finding them to be a good all round road pad, and great value

Agreed ^^^^100%
Ebc were a rubbish pad when I tried both red and yellow ‘stuff’

Loved Ferodo DS performance though.

Superb.

+1 on the DS Performance. I have them on my front and the DS2500 on the rear. Good when cold and lovely bite when warm.

I don't believe the DS performance pads are available for the 4 pot brembo..
EBC Yellows are very noisy and dusty so not great imo
EBC Reds are better and I've had no issue with them (currently fitted) but they do fade quickly when pushed and occasional require a few hard applications to get the best pedal feel.

I'm going to go for Hawk performance HPS 5.0 next

The DS Perf are available for our cars, but you do have to swap over the brake wear sensor on one of the pads. Easy enough job. They aren't available for the rears, which is why I opted for the DS2500 for rear.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm talking 8v so not sure if the caliper is different on 8p.

Steve

Price for one £80 for DS against £180 for DS 2500 as for performance the DS work from 0/ 560' we're the DS2500 work from 0/600'.

These specs are from the Ferodo web site.

I use yellow stuff. For road use I think they are good enough although changing the fronts about every 5k but it's horses for courses. A hard pad will be less dusty but kill discs, a soft pad wear out quick but good bite, maybe with a bit of fade if pushed. TBH I don't think the RS3 has a perfect pad as the car on a track will give you about 6 or 7 hot laps with any pad before fading and giving up on you. ( they're fine on my racecar with no fade at all but only trying to stop just over a ton not in excess of one and half tons).

I stand corrected, why they can't list the 8P fitment i don't know..
I notice from your other post with the pic of the pads that they have a wear sensor, different plug coupler I guess so would need modding?
