DellJonny.
No there not AP discs fitted on there bells,But they do use AP disc on there other brake conversions.
I did speak to Martin about using AP disc but he said the RS Brembo pad wipe is different to the AP one.

So do you rate their own disc/bell set up ?

Dell,Jonny.
Brakes can be a very a subjective thing but at this time & with the pad set up I'm very happy with them mate
Dell.
Dell,Do you track yours then mate or are you just a mental moment driver like me?
Ps; i do have plans to do odd track daysSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dell,Jonny.
I did a session at the RSfest last year & properly cooked the front discs/EBC reds & the brake fluid before chasing Roy's S7.
On the road I can have my moments but generally I'm well behaved as it not the right place to unleash the RS.
I wanted a better quality front brake disc set up than the OEM discs at a more realistic price than the AP that's around & unwarranted for myself to be honest mate.
If your going to do track days or drive hard speak to Matin & run the DS2500 pads.
Dell.
Dell,
Thats the way im thinking mate, a better set up but for less cost than the Ap’s, my son took his 8v on a track evening at snetterton last summer and cooked the rear discs & pads & the front pads, he now runs ds2500 on waveys front and stock pads with Ap discs in the rear, looks cool and works for him but at a hell of a cost,
Expensive track evening for him.
I on the other hand am still running stock brakes all round, now on 17k miles so about time for some upgrades then more power

I used to have the Alcons on my Focus RS, I thought they were great, Fantastic feel and easy to modulate. Pads were a little pricey (Pagid RS29) and i found the calipers to weigh as much as a boat anchor. Also the bobbins would always pop out from the screws on the bell and rotor and would rattle a lot. doesn't effect the performance just annoying. No point to rebuild as it would just happen again next time they got really hot.
I have 6 pot AP PRO 5000R on the RS3 that are very light weight and have made the pedal feel much more compliant. There is not much performance difference between the 2 but the AP definitely stays cooler and of course the weight advantage.

I’m sure the new Alcon callipers are lightweight one piece, so hopefully better than those on the focus
Some of the newer ones are lighter i know that but any road caliper is going to be much heavier than a Motorsport caliper. Im pretty sure the Revo is still the older caliper. Its not a bad thing they are great brakes just for the money you could get the newer AP Radical which is lighter.
Its not fair to compare either to the Pro 5000 R since its not road legal and an entry level Motorsport caliper. Alcon have an equivalent buts dam expensive,
