Those are the 'new' RS3 front disc which Audi are rolling out.....
Drove 100 easy km's on used pads.
R8 rear discs are different centre hub design.

How can you tell? They told me at Audi that they are from the rear R8? Are they stupid or lying?
P.S. What are the dimensions then of these new RS3 discs?
Can you take a photo of the part number stamped on the bells ? that will tell you for certain.

Where should I look for the part number? I asked my Audi mechanic today and he said that the discs are identical to the rear R8's and that they are now being used on the RS3's. When I asked if they were same diameter he said that they have to be.

Are these parts with the numbers on them part of the disc that they replaced? If they are new then why so many scratches?

Yes they come as one piece and they are definatley not R8 discs.

The piece with the number on it is inseparable from the disc itself? How could it be so scratched if new?

They are two separate parts joined together in the manufacturing process .They are machined parts and aren't polished hence the rough finish.

Careless Audi technician
Scratched in transit
Scratched at the factory
No biggie though is it, you'll not notice it when it's whizzing around at 30 mph
