Haha this is ridiculous, makes the remap gains rubbish

Especially when the much touted MTM box makes less power

It sounds to me like the Dyno is reading a little high
I'd say its reading similar to what a few other owners reported not so long back............

This dyno tells lies, they feel nowhere near that powerful stock

Maybe yours is one of the few cars running the standard 362bhp then? Or, you may have a car running with low fuel pressure problems where the ECU reigns back the power (as mine did before it got fixed under warranty).

Either that or I just know what power feels like in various cars.Maybe yours one of the few cars running the standard 362bhp then?
I just remembered that i'm absent minded, wait, i mean i lost my mind i can't find it.

It's the delivery of the power / torque that makes it feel underwhelming at stock anyway

I've not had mine on the RR yet but this post has made me decide it's time. I must admit though mine feels no where near 400, my old Impreza was RR'd 359bhp 326lb ft and felt a lot quicker, I've put this down to being auto and not having the extra pinned to seat suction through the changes but I'd like to think that if I was running anywhere near the 400 I'd feel that pin regularly when having a spirited drive in manual mode but the only time I feel the stomach in throat semi in pants is when i lauch it.
They surely can't be tha high stock.
Has a mapped one been on yet to see if the dyno is just reading high?
I wouldn't say 'High' I'd say healthy..........
Not the first cars to have those sorts of figures either........
Great to meet up with you guys at SRR today, the dyno session showed some interesting results.
So what did we learn? Well, I will let Monopole post a summary of the runs in the graph format he has created, and also leave it for him to comment on the performance of the MTM tuning box (which did not perform as expected)
The results (see above posts for individual numbers) were fairly consistent between the five cars (we ran at least two back to back power runs per car with each run being within a few bhp of the previous). Regardless of opinions as to whether a particular rolling road is accurate/telling lies or whatever, the standard RS3 is definately producing more power/torque than is quoted from Audi. No surprise then that it does so well in many drag races on Youtube!
Another interesting result is that the Milltek secondary decats appear to be a good value for money mod, not only producing a good sound, but also around 10 - 15 bhp increase over standard with a bit more torque too. This was also proven recently by a few other forum members who got very similar results ( I think on the same dyno).
As for tuning boxes, (love em or hate em - see my comments in post #122), well the MTM version being run today seemed to have a problem which needs to be checked before passing judgement here. Hopefully Monopole will be able to shed some light on that.

The Scooby was probably lighter though.
I have seen around 380 before but not over 400.
Either way, its still considerably over the quoted 362bhp from Audi. Dyno results are always subjective to some degree, you can get different results on different days or a different one the same day 5 miles up the road on a different machine.
If you trawl the web for RS3 8V dyno results you will see that there are loads of owners and tuning companies that have closley matched or exceeded the dyno figures acheived at SRR today. The cars that acheived the higher power outputs all had higher mileages (around 8 to 10K miles).
Before this risks decending into a debate about dyno accuracy, can I point out that the session was useful as a comparison between standard cars, and a car with a minor mod (secondary cats replaced), and a car runing a tuning box. The results were what there were on the day and hopefully provided forum members with some insight on possible mods for their own cars.

Did anyone have a dtuk box in the end?
No, we were only using the MTM tuning box as a before and after comparison.
