Both cars are that close together you can't even see the separation in the overlaid runs! Ha

I'm a lover of performance cars and tuning..... and started to look at the RS3 since Aoon has recently purchased one.

 

Depending upon how he gets on, I might be tempted to swap out.

It was very interesting to see that both of these cars at Stage 1 are virtually identical in respect to performance.  Unfortunately the A45's tuning scene is pretty limited, unlike the RS scene.  Both great cars for sure...... I'm just a modaholic, so just having a scoot around at other possibilities.

I've a revo installer in Northampton may get mine done when In for 1st Service 19k,don't take any of my cars to dealers always used good independent garages as you still keep warranty until you map it that is!!!!!

Another Revo Stage 1 car producing pretty much identical results, so it seems consistent at least.

TX - I remember back in the early 90's my Ford
escort RS turbo did 0-60mph in that time

 

 

My RS Turbo was bought new and lightly moded (fuel injection tuned and piper magnum 285 cam and Janspeed exhaust) and made 168 (stock was 132 if I remember correctly). 0-60 was just under 7 seconds (stock was ~8.2).

 

I was around the Fast Ford world 80's/90s and had a friend who ran a stage 3+ and that put out 210bhp with a 0-60 of just under 6 seconds, but it was a sh1t to drive.

 

 

I have never heard of an Escort RS Turbo getting anywhere near 4 seconds 0-60.

The graph above shows the RS3 getting to 100mph in 8.5s which I think RS03Pete meant his RST could do 0-60 in

 

Afaik the standard RS3 can get to 60 in under 4s so increased power isn't really helping it get off the line but is helping it get to 100!

I had one (g reg) that I took to power engineering for a 1.9 conversion. T34 turbo, fith injector, gas flowed head & lumpy cam etc etc. they rolling roaded it at 265bhp

 

the thing was impossible to drive.

My RS turbo was the Series I - one of the best cars I ever owned still to this day. All analogue in terms of feel etc (anyway we are a bit off topic now)...

I spoke to my insurance company this week to ask the extra cost if I was to remap my car....it is only £87 on the premium....going to get this done in the next few weeks..👍
