Hi yes I can't do any mods whist car is under warranty as still has engine noise, it's going in again for a week today hopefully will get it sorted out but another £60 for diagnosis check

£60 diagnosis check ?!!!

You shouldn't have to pay that if it's still in warranty......

Get onto the MD of Audi uk and send him an email outlining your issues and the fact that you are not getting any joy.

The car didn't come from Audi I just took out extended warranty but I'm going to say that I've already paid for the first check which they haven't yet sorted out so if I don't get anywhere this time then are do what you suggested thanks t 800 !

A diagnostic charge when you have an extended warranty is normal, in my experience. And £60 is less than I was charged, it might be a function of how long the diagnostic will take in each case.

If there is a problem covered by the warranty then you can usually reclaim the diagnostic charge via the warranty claim.

Ok car has gone in again to Audi they didn't charge me another £60 for diagnosis so that was nice ! they checked it out, came back with sound is just charateristic of the RS3 which I wasn't buying so after going down there and going on test drive with a technician they have understood what the sound is that I'm concerned about and it can only be the timing chain and they agreed ! So Car is going in on 1st if Feb For timing chain and tensioners replacement so new fly wheel and now new timing chain so far and now something knocking on front drivers side strut and after Audi rebalanced wheels and re aligned the geometry I'm still getting vibration and steering wobble between 76 and 86 mph any ideas anyone ???

Sadly To be honest if I could do the same I would, not sure if I could do that as bought from second hand car dealer with 3 months warranty, how do you go about rejecting your car ? I didn't know you could have that option ?

Thanks raptor I know you had a nightmare with yours could you tell me apart from the cringing sound, after yours was sorted out did it improve anything else or was it just the sound that disappeared, did it become a smoother drive ?

My car was transformed afterwards.Much much quieter at all revs and it now has a real good raspy exhaust note especially at 2000rpm.I think Bolton is the only Audi place to have replaced a chain so far.Have faith stick with it.

Hi raps ! Parts came in yesterday they started work on it today but called today to say they found another damaged part that needs to be ordered I didn't get that much info back apart from it was somewhere in the engine and it's a small sieve type filter? That is now on back order from Germany could be another 10 days yet but hopefully will be in early next week, it's a pain as I have mods lined up and is putting a hold on them at the moment but rather they took there time and get it right, I've Spent more time with the girl in the service dept at Audi than I did with the ex wife !!
