Update....for the record..
The `noisy` chain has behaved itself for a few days while the weather has been crap (cool and rainy).
Today after 8 hrs standing .... sun out and indicated outside temp 18.5c.......cold start up......noisy chain back!!
Let her warm up for 5 mins then noisy went away!!..........weird !!!

May sound wierd and may not apply but does the RS3 have a vanos cam chain balancer ? I heard that few Audis suffer from Vanos rattle on start up and although only a small component it's a high labour cost job to correct

Well I`ve got the oil report back from analysis. All  OK. It was 5W30 that Audi used. Also now that the car is booked into Stockport next week I`ve just received a phone call from Audi Bolton .Very apologetic and very eager to get my car back in for the chain noise. What do I do?

Bolton or Stockport?????

Thanks for the advice.I guess it`s back to Bolton then. I take it Stockport didn`t do your chain then.

Chain? You mean one of the problems I actually sent it in for? 😂😂 They did nothing at all mate, I told them to take the discs off and measure them not clean them, I'd already done that. Another waste of fule, time and money. All they did was balance the wheels and talked a load of bull.

I'm thinking it's like the scene in Ferris Buellers day off.........
Where he takes his dad's Ferrari to the city and those parking attendants 'borrow' it for a while.....

That's what happened with mine, Audi tech flying all over cheshire in it and when I get it back it'll have 5000 extra miles on it

I'm surprised Audi UK haven't furnished you in somthing RS for the duration, as a gesture of goodwill.

They are doing me a favour Roy apparently by making sure the 'centre' fix everything properly.

Just rang Audi UK

Usual flannel...... No S/RS car, we are moving in the right direction, even though the 'centre' haven't responded to his email for an update on my car

They don't have any S/RS models at Audi UK because of insurance implications.

So in summary.........
We are moving in the right direction....although to be honest I don't actually know which way that is

They do for some customers. There appears to be no consistency at Audi at all.

As someone else said to me earlier this week.....,'they won't like enthusiasts like you and other RS owners'
'Because you'll demand things are done right, whereas your average joe won't be as bothered when taking their car in'

BLUEY has her 4th and last Audi service on the 14th; 4-years old and 10500-miles.  MOT will be done locally as the MOT man can't count   and then servicing will be done at 17 St Peter's; can't see why we continue to give Audi dealers the privilege...

Suzy A2 has just had new brakes with EBC discs and EBC Greenstuff fitted all round and no worries; even managed to torque all 20-wheel bolts.  Interestingly, when we purchased this car earlier this year - following 7-years of Audi dealer annual servicing - I had to take the car to a local garage to get the 10 of the 20-wheel bolts undone!  :frantic:  Seem to remember having to do something similar on a white Audi S5 that arrived from Oxford Audi, fortunately my man-in-a-van tyre fitter came by with the appropriate 6-ft long bar and socket: wonder if Uncle Fester remembers that one...  :3:
