Forgot to say.I`m sending a 30ml sample of my engine oil away for analysis .I imagine there will be a lot of aluminium in it from where the chain is hitting the housing. But then Audi will probably say it`s not from my car.

Is it the place where master techs hide out ?
If so I think we should converge en masse and tell em what we think of their fix-it skills...........
We can actually say to them 'they all do that'

There will be some off white creamy fluid mixed with the oil if that Master tech Bates has anything to do with the analysis. :m0168:

Their computer equipment must be pre 2000 as they told me my video clips weren't compatible

How convenient that the Master Techs cannot get iPhone video clips to play....

I'm thinking of having them converted to cassette form and putting them in the post.

Multi-billion pound company with crap tech.

Update....the car has been untouched and parked on the drive outside for 2 complete days , only washed her and polished wheels.

Went out this evening and on start up no chain noise at all ,, for the record the outside temp today has been a lot cooler and its been raining.

I am going to monitor this week hoping that the temp goes up or the sun comes out to see if the noise comes back !!

I'm not surprised Neil........

I sent Russell Lockwood a very long email when mine had to go into Manchester Audi in June
It was highlighting their previous failings and how I wouldn't stand for any more bad service......
Guess what
Nothing, nil, nada..........

Thats awful to hear, would explain why they nearly lose customers to be honest.

Inform Audi UK, and forward your original message back to Jon, I can only imagine he has been swamped with emails and it could be lost in translation.

More troubles .This time not dealer related.Had a private plate on the car for 5 months. All the relevant paperwork filled in correctly and had the usual acceptance letter from DVLA.Trouble is when I went for my first MOT today the garage says my car doesn`t exist.I could have sworn I drove it there. The DVLA haven`t told the MOT database so they can`t MOT my car.

On another note I resent the email to Jon Sutcliffe at Bolton a couple of days ago.Still nothing. It`s now booked into Stockport in a fortnight.

Audi UK were very interested in Bolton`s attitude and said there`s a strong possibility someone from Audi Milton Keynes is going to listen to my timing chain noise assuming I can get it MOT`d.

Update....for the record..

The `noisy` chain has behaved itself for a few days while the weather has been crap (cool and rainy).

Today after 8 hrs standing .... sun out and indicated outside temp 18.5c.......cold start up......noisy chain back!!

Let her warm up for 5 mins then noisy went away!!..........weird !!!
