Gen 1 Cars also had a expensive spec list and although some Cars were north of £45K there was quite a few Cars with Poverty Spec (my last one listed at under £41500) and still sold easily at £30K (Trade) when nearly 2 Years old. think my Gen 2 car will be quite Basic and I should be looking at about £42K with everything I need

Good luck with that - basic car plus OTR, tax and fuel will be £41k

Did anyone who was there notice what tyres the demo car was on? I'm fairly sure they were Pirellis of some sort but I do remember being very impressed by the big protective lip they had which was a lot thicker than I've ever seen (or at least noticed) before.

They were some sort of Pirelli P-Zeros I read somewhere allegedly specifically designed for the RS3. I noticed they were marked R01 but that's old Audi Quattro specific approval.

UK List Price OTR has been announced at £39950.00 that includes RFL inc Showroom Tax @ £485.00 1st Reg Fee and Delivery Charge (£590.00) so £2K of Extras should get you Basic Sat/Nav Option Colour Style Pack  and a few other little bits

I've no doubt it will be possible to get a basic car in the low £40k's, but it is also going to be quite possible to get into the low £50k's without being wildly extravagant. Having said that, if they have fixed the brakes and made the handling a little more 'adjustable' it will still be good value, even in the low £50k's

Personally I can't believe more aren't thinking about ceramics given the originals brake fiasco.

By the time all the essential boxes get ticked, this is easily shaping up to be a £50-55k motor car - in fact it will be interesting to see how much it costs to get to mk 1 standard spec - which in two years time at 15-20k miles could well be worth £30k due to lack of 'exclusivity'. I think I have just decided what I will be doing

Only thing I can see on the Gen 1 Car not std on the Gen 2 Cars is the Sat/Nav which was quite dated anyway. so if you buy the Basic Sat/Nav which should still be better than Gen 1 Cars your Probably looking at about £500 more than the Standard Spec of the MK1 Cars when they were first Launched 4 Years Ago.

Which even without taking inflation into the equation makes it an absolute bargain when you consider as well as over 4 Years newer technology you get the Light and Rain Sensors std (extra on Gen 1 Cars) LED Headlights & Front Parking Sensors (neither of which were available on the Gen 1) And the Exclusive Alcantara Steering wheel.(Plus an extra 27bhp and the proper RS Twin Oval Exhausts lol)

Just rang Audi UK, to see when books open. The guy siad its available for order, he also said its in the configurator. So after the call i jumped on my phone and checked to see if it was there, which it wasnt. I rang back and told the guy, he went to go check again and then come back 5mins later- "sorry i saw the s3 sportback and thought it was the RS3"

Had me on a serious pump there. FML

FFS Sometimes I wonder why we bother to show an interest when we have to deal with muppets like that. I had to email the dealer info pack on the RS3 found on here to my dealer!

Hi guys,
So I have been told by the guy that i brought my rs5 from, that orders will open next thursday. So again some conflicting information. Just wish a company like Audi could organise a car release.

It's interesting that all the demo cars have roof rails. Can't say that I've ever seen an actual RS3 with roof bars to date?

Mine has roof rails :)
