Good point! I violently agree that RS3 five-pot makes a glorious noise. Despite the aural disadvantage, Audi intends to launch a limited edition A3 model that sits above the RS3 with the 400 bho EA888 engine. It should look much more aggressive. The really important thing about this model is that the amount of weight over the front wheels should be vastly reduced (30-40 kgs). That'll make a big difference to ride and handling, and will eliminate under steer without needing to have wider front tyres. My guess is that it'll be called the A3 Club Sport. Both the A3 and Golf R400 will be amazing cars.

The current A3 Clubsport uses RS3 motor 5 cyl 2.5 , 525hp

I've not heard anything further from my dealer. Anyone else with a deposit down heard anything useful? No new news articles or anything that I can find online.

I have had a deposit down for about 6 months and called my dealer yesterday. He said they might be able to email a brochure next week to choose my spec but I'm not holding my breath!

They're not, that very much looks like the car park at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm so they are press cars at best. I have pics of pre sale cars in the very same car park from when I went on the R8 factory tour a couple of years ago so new metal there is not unusual

And I am not waiting to order a new RS but was bored earlier so configured an S3 in Sprint Blue... £41.5K OTR. And hate the look of the 19" wheels and not sure why have to have mag ride if have 19"s (with 16" tyres - Audi configurator "bug"  )
