Just post the link? LOL I would if I could! If I click the link button, a dialogue opens and I can type whatever I want in it but then can't close the dialogue - cancel, OK, nothing...all I can do is hit Back on the browser and then the post's gone! Just normal Windows 8.1 and ie. Bag of poo site this!

By the time all the essential boxes get ticked, this is easily shaping up to be a £50-55k motor car - in fact it will be interesting to see how much it costs to get to mk 1 standard spec - which in two years time at 15-20k miles could well be worth £30k due to lack of 'exclusivity'. I think I have just decided what I will be doing

It's interesting that all the demo cars have roof rails. Can't say that I've ever seen an actual RS3 with roof bars to date?

Did anyone who was there notice what tyres the demo car was on? I'm fairly sure they were Pirellis of some sort but I do remember being very impressed by the big protective lip they had which was a lot thicker than I've ever seen (or at least noticed) before.

It's only going to be north of £50k if you spec ceramic brakes which is completely pointless IMO. I reckon a reasonable spec will get you in at £45k which for a 5dr hatch which is quicker than a 991s to 60 is not bad going
I don't disgree with you at all on the basic merits of the car, in fact I have posted previously about its unique combination of capabilities at any price, but I was just pointing out that we shouldn't be seduced by the basic price because most cars will be much more expensive than that.
I agree with you totally on ceramics and I haven't included those - take a look down the list and cost your options, it mounts up pretty sharpish. I'm not a techie sort and I just pulled out a number of things I would regard as essential for me - B&O sound, Bluetooth, basic nav pack, sports exhaust, black or alu external trim, Recaro seats (when available) - with OTR charges that tots up to £6.5k (I have converted at current CHF/GBP rates). On top of that will probably be around £600 for metallic paint and full nav plus MMI may be required, depending on specs, at £1300 - that puts us at £48.5k before we start thinking of 'niceties' like auto lights, uprated headlights, upgraded interior trims, panoramic roof, privacy glass, sports suspension.......
I reckon some of the guys on here who like their toys will be up to £55k before they realise

Judging by a couple of different photos from this event and Geneva they are Pirelli P-Zeroes.
Anyone tried those before?

Gen 1 Cars also had a expensive spec list and although some Cars were north of £45K there was quite a few Cars with Poverty Spec (my last one listed at under £41500) and still sold easily at £30K (Trade) when nearly 2 Years old. think my Gen 2 car will be quite Basic and I should be looking at about £42K with everything I need
