Hay ben
The injectors were not flow matched however after a few test drives with new port injectors fitted, the car returned to it's original malfunction state...the engine is wth race developments now or still in transit....
Also to note after a weekend of driving it drank a litre and a half of oil so somethin is not right in the engine...

Did you have this engine built to then, if so why isnt it with the original company? Surely you have warranty?

Been 6 months so far and aint got any more time with them anymore...

Surely if the cams were out of time the engine wouldn`t have made the power it did.
Bearings drop out of rods due to det. Probably caused by the excess oil consumption.

At jbs it made 756
At mrc it made 650...

Maybe at jbs when i collected it was not that bad.
Possibly the usual dyno war figures also

Jeeez, not the first horror story I’ve heard about JBS either.

They need shutting down doing shoddy work like that.

Well what can I say...so angry I feel numb... how do I go about this dealing with it with jbs.. i want some type of compensation from them...

I am no lawyer but have had plenty of experience of using the law professionally.  You are seeking to claim for defective workmanship so you will need expert reports (you have had someone looking at it - can they be claimed to be an uninterested expert or is it a competing garage?).

You will have to afford them the opportunity of undertaking their own expert report - you should suggest someone independent from the garage.

I am not sure how the Consumer Rights Act related to modification work compared to defects in new cars but it may be that you have to afford them to opportunity to rectify any mistakes that are highlighted in the reports.  Tbh - given the scale of the likely cost if a new block is required you should seek initial legal advice once the expert report is to hand - I should stress that this cannot be from a garage offering similar work / repairs.

The best of luck with it mate - shocking workmanship it would seem.

I’m far from an expert on this but regularly employ people to carry out “work” on occasion this work is defective..... you absolutely have to give them an opportunity to put right what they have got wrong before you employ others on their behalf to put the work right. If I were you I would collate the evidence and go back to jbs with the facts (try and distance yourself emotionally - even though this will be difficult) and ask them to put right what you have paid them for. I would do this without legal advice initially. Do it formally in writing and give them a reasonable period of time to respond ( say 2 weeks) if they don’t write again giving them a week... if this doesn’t work you have documented evidence to take legal advice on and then move forward with a professional legal team.... this will cost you....
Good luck and I sincerely hope it gets resolved quickly for you and you achieve what you originally set out too.

If you look very closely it appears that one of the valves has been JUST touching the piston.Cam timing out. Also the
bore finish is totally wrong. Not enough pressure on the honing stones. That could account for the scratches on the bores
as it won`t be holding enough oil.
.I know some independant engine specialists that will give you a written report if you need one.

This.  Given the scale of the potential cost to rectify spending a few hundred quid on proper independent mechanical and legal advice is a no brainer in my opinion.
