He hasn't been on AS.N for ages, and his sticky on the AP brake kit has been removed, so maybe an upset there as well. Dell, I think you are right. Sad, as with a different approach he might have had a lot to offer.

Seems to be busy racing so perhaps just no time for it now. I saw him racing at Silverstone before the GP this year.

All race drivers have a slight arrogance about them, no?

What about MOT time with the handbrake?

Jay, I can reinstall the original rear brakes in under an hour so I offer to do this, but so far my local guy 'looks the other way'.

Much easier to add the R8 handbrake caliper and no messing around before mot time...like how Terminator had it.

Mine had a separate handbrake caliper mounted on a VBT adaptor (that didn't fit properly) although it was in a different location; more to the top than rear of disc. Like I said, I don't actually refit the originals, I just offer to do it. I'm happy to save ~1kg a side by not running the handbrake caliper & bracket. Offsets (some of the) added weight of BBK. And race car :)

Abit of a thread revival here but fitted the rs7 rear discs yesterday afternoon at Dell’s. Have to say love the look of them cannot understand why they didn’t come as standard. Only done about 12miles of driving so far, will only be able to give a review once I’ve totalled up some more miles in a more spirited fashion.

Awesome gti have an install guide so didn’t bother to document the install. All I will say is that the top m14 spline bolts that hold the calliper carrier is a real f##### to get to and requires a short purpose made spline socket that thankfully Dell had.
Thanks again Dell for your help and resources mate and letting me take your rs out for a spin. My god what a well planted motor that is. Grips in to corners like no other that I’ve driven and the torque catapults you round incredibly. Food for thought indeed for my one know 😂👍

Dan.

The lack off disc wear & the milage there been fitted is a testament to the ebc reds for the use your using them for.

I fitted ebc reds originally to mine as the oem pads were eatting the discs & as they were promoted as a performance pad i should have had the best of both world but sadly that was not the case.

If they like the Ferodo Premiers were promoted as a good quality replacement i would have had no qualms like yourself in using them for that purpose.

I also had Redstuff fitted for probably 18 months, No squeal stopped ok ish. I did notice a gradual lack of braking towards 18 months use. It was only when I changed to Ferodo that I realized just how awful the Redstuff were. The first time I used the Ferodo in anger I nearly went through the screen. But if they work for you all well and good.
