On that other website someone is saying no more being built, just the 300 already built to be sold?

It wasn't ever on was it?
Sure the TTRS has only ever been coming soon but not available to actually spec a car?

If only Audi AG and Audi UK would get their comms right. There certainly seem to be mixed messages coming from Audi UK and their dealer network.
I don't have any insider knowledge, I'm only going on what I've picked up from other forums (including the TT Forum and the other one). Allegedly the reason that it's centre stock only at the moment is to do with the fact that the TT RS needs type approval and the first batch of cars have an air conditioning refrigerant which won't comply with new rules from 1st January 2017. So these cars need to be registered before the end of the calendar year.
The Audi UK comms from the website that Chungster posted above is carefully worded and does say that the statement is correct at November 2016. Some on the TT Forum say they've been advised by either by Audi UK Customer Service or a dealer that it will be possible to spec a TT RS to individual spec and that there won't be limited numbers. I did see a post elsewhere suggesting Q3 2017 for delivery if not in current dealer stock orders.
Not in a position to buy right now - so choosing who to believe isn't really an issue for me. For anyone who wants a car right now and can find one to their spec - then good luck and I'm very jealous. If I did have the money right now, I think I'd take a chance on being able to spec one to my preferred spec, even if delivery might be up to a year away.
Maybe someone would like to spec a Daytona Grey with Black Pack and sell it to me a few years down the line as a well cared for TT RS that has been driven as it was meant to be.
Begs the question as to whether the RS3 type approval in place will extend to the RS3 saloon - or whether that will need new type approval with the refrigerants meeting the new spec.
And now Pistonheads are saying it's down to an engine supply problem

Come on Audi - get some decent and consistent comms out.
So much for doubling the numbers of models over the next two years.... maybe they are holding back units for the inevitable supply they will need for the Facelift Sportback?
Does seem odd, that with a limited supply until next year that they would straight away lose a dozen or so to the press and then even more for garages Demo models. Especially as they still have quite a few ex-demo RS3's that have proved difficult to shift on.

I've heard the same as cobstar - the issue is apparently the air conditioning doesn't meet spec, and they have to have this resolved before they can sell them.
Would seem the more plausible reason as I've heard all Dealer/Demo Cars have to be registered before the end of the Year as they don't meet the New EU legislation whereas if it was just an Engine shortage surely wouldn't matter when Cars were Registered
Definitely seem to be mixed messages as MacD and others have heard direct from dealers that it is an engine supply issue. And if they're trying to crack the USA market then I can understand that they might want to prioritise engines for the RS3 "sedan".
But there again the feedback someone on the TT Forum had was that it was because they were taking the engines for the "current RS3" and the RS3 Saloon and we all know the RS3 isn't currently in production in hatchback form.
I guess both reasons could contribute to the supply issue.

Have you got one on order Chris?.
Have you got one on order Chris?.
Had Deposit Down Since August was offered one of the Dealers Cars In Black but Spec was S&*t and couldn't get a penny off Hoping order books open soon so can be in one for March/April otherwise might have to nip off to the Enemy and look at an M2 again
Had dealer offer me today a myhos black one with alu styling pack, sports exhaust, advanced key, hold assist with 20" alloys hadn't got as far as the price as I want one with mag ride and didn't prefer black (black IMO difficult to maitain in pristine condition & so definitely requires a protective coating) - he's gone off to search for something closer to what I want & will get back to me on Monday.
The AC refrigerant thing sounds odd but plausible in terms of EU regs, so the engine supply thing may be a PR front?
