2016 BLACK/ALU RS3 avec a melange of options
just got this reply from them.....
Audi don’t offer an approved retro fit sports exhaust system for this vehicle. You could fit the sports exhaust system part number 8V0253181F ‘but this is not Audi approved & nobody has ever retro fitted this part to an RS3 & would be down to yourselves.
Basically the cost is £1257.31 inc vat for the part without labour, it will have to come from Germany and is therefore non-returnable, it should fit but no-one has done it yet so there is no guarantee and as it’s not an ‘factory approved’ retro-fit kit we have no comeback if there is a problem and there could also be potential issues with Warranty because even though it would be a genuine part it was not ‘Factory fitted’ so would not be covered.
Could you PM me with the dealers details - I'd love to rub their noses in it!
Besides which, it is only an exhaust pipe and silencer; both the standrd and sports exhausts are exactly the same price, require no coding to work - and it wouln't be that long before they are sold by quickfit!.
PM enroute. you can have the salesmans direct email.
I've been holding off, thinking i'll email another dealer/see what milltek come up with as haven't really used the car. Needs doing one way or another tho, the standard exhaust does sound great dont get me wrong, but you have to drive it harder to get pops/bangs. im certain it's easier with the sports (so i'm telling the wife )

i must admit, original order i spec'd it, drove a standard shortly after (hadn't heard a sports) and thought you know what that sounds ok. when the cancelled order appeared and covered all my spec with a few extras but no dynamic pack i thought yep i'll be happy. Oh no i then heard a sports exhaust....... I NEED one..... I will get one........
My concern is the miltek might be a little too much, i leave home sometimes as early as 3:45 but usually aroud 5am but then again the sports (and standard for that matter) do seem to be rather loud on initial start so will it make that much difference.....
Either way, im guessing once the aftermarkets start to go live a few sports systems might be available.

I've a spare standard exhaust sitting here, if anyone has a plasma cutter and a mig welder, they could create their own 'sports exhaust!' - and it would look standard!
Offers on a PM!
i have both a plasma and mig or tig welder........... i keep looking at the standard on ebay thinking should i!!!! thats only 20 mins away from me too....
Yeah but do we know exactly what the internal differences are?
is it JUST purely baffles? and quantity of them in the standard exhaust Vs Sports?

been sitting here thinking (yes it hurt). maybe i should try the standard exhaust mod, that way i can then offer an exchange to anyone else that might want a sports style as an aftermarket..... hmmmm

going to have a guess and say that if you dyno'd a car with sport exhaust and none sport the outcome will be the same BHP also much the same for the Miltek
£ for £ the 2nd cat bypass delete is the best mod that can be done easily and cheaply, get that extra grunt/noise you require without compromising cabin drone
buying a £1000+ after market exhaust for noise alone to me seems madness
I have yet to see any noticeable performance gains from fitting a aftermarket exhaust on the RS3 8v (and not some resellers bodged dyno figures either)
If we are talking about Stage 3 conversion bigger turbo etc etc then yes you may need an aftermarket exhaust but for the simple bolt on mods and remaps its simply not required unless you want more noise and to hear louder pops and bangs lol!
There was an article on a US forum about a Golf R with a bolt on turbo conversion TTE 450 or 500 can't remember which and they have the car on the dyno and it wasn't making the numbers (50-60bhp down) they checked and changed everything and lastly removed the Cat-back miltek and re-fitted the original exhaust (abet with a miltek de-cat downpipe and sport cel)
and hey presto the car was re-dyno'd and made the power that was claimed.
maybe a bad batch or a dodgy 1 off system but it proved the restriction isn't the cat-back stock system which can cope just fine at 150bhp+ more than stock
would love to see the figure on a TTE converted RS3 8v with stock cat-back and miltek (or other brand) to see if any gains are to be had?
