There is a massive difference from dynamic to comfort on zorst settings. Even at idle inside the car with all windows closed
8v RS3 that is currently very sick after covering 300 miles

Ok, maybe something wrong than with that car. I have to find another car than to hear the difference. Even with the standard exhaust you can clearly hear it when the ventil is opening and closing.

One thing I have noticed with mine, if you turn the car off when its in dynamic. It will still be in dynamic when you start it back up however I don't think the valves open again properly. You need to put in another mode then back into dynamic and they should open. I think its a software glitch, I am sure the golf R has the same issue

My S1 is the same, and the RS4 I tested at the dealership - it seems to be by design across the VAG range (the Mrs Octavia vRS also was the same). Apparently a quicker way to get them open is to flick to S and back to D again - I've not tried this myself though as not got the car yet!

I got told by a stealer that the main difference, aside from the noise, is that the standard exhaust in effect only utilises one tailpipe and sports uses both... Not sure I trust that statement though, think it was possibly a fob-off!

Brace yourself... The stealer doesn't know what he is talking about?!? Shock horror. Mine is standard as definitely uses both tail pipes.

However what I did pick up on was how some MkIIs sounded different to others (and I was told later some had the sports exhaust)
Under full chat and exiting a corner you could really tell the difference against a std one....not a test you'd ever really get to witness anywhere else......just an observation which was really interesting
The Mk1 sound differences were unbelievable as infnately variable exhaust mods upgrades and maps on them...same interesting obs

Yep exactly the same with mine, bloody annoying, I first noticed it as it wouldn't pop and bang on downshifts, so I cycled through the settings and it was fine. I might just take off the vacuum for the valves because its always in dynamic anyway.
