Thank you... :3:  I used JP Alloys in Cannock - talk to Pete.  To be fair JP had a few issues holding 'em as JP are primarliy wheel painters but after 3-attempts they got 'em right; and I lurv the 'look'.

What was the £damage John?

Well.  Lets put some perspective onto my answer; I'd been thinking of doing a sans badges (badges have been on and off so many times they can now do it by themselves…) and black tail-pipe set-up for some time and, with thanks to PaulRS3 for the 'alert', purchased a used pair off eBay for £25.  To be fair, both pipes were pretty good and very useable and I considered spray-painting both myself with POR-15 but, knowing others may want a 'similar' look and may not want to go that route I went and spoke to JP Alloys (Cannock) suggesting they do 'em as a development exercise (I'd already got JP doing RS3 alloys) and used Duke3d's "£25 per tip" as a guide.  Pete's reaction was "we can beat that".

However, as JP 'cocked-up' twice for good reason - they're used to painting wheels 'perfectly' and had to make a jig for the pipes - they came out FOC.

So, talk to JP (Pete) and maybe £35 to £40 the pair plus post would do it…

Morning all

Newish of the RS forum but my tailpipes are starting to show some signs of wear so I was thinking of getting them re done. Will just general powder coating be sufficient or does it require a more durable protection due to heat? Reason I ask because my mum is a director of a powder coating firm so would be a nice free fix if it just requires a quick respray.
Thanks

C'mon JayRS3; GO and get mum to do 'em...   :frantic:

GO Jay's Mum...  :3: What a girl....

P1020393x_zpszepv4xti.jpg

Like most kids - and I was one once - you obviously have NO idea of what your mum does; but once she's done 'em, and I'm sure she can, then get her to do a costing so as to offer the same powder-coating facility for others; you know it makes sense.

Hey mum; here's a business opportunity just waiting...  :11:

Haha that did make me laugh. She isn't a bad old girl. I'm sure I could conjure up something if there was interest.
