Not being a fan of chrome and the fact my exhaust trims were in piss poor condition when I bought the car I decided to get them ceramic coated in black.

After being recoated in Cerakote C-7600Q Glacier Black

Much cheaper than sourcing the original Audi black chrome items.

I'm well chuffed with them.

I ordered the black and chrome trims.
I got caught out with the price! When quoted assumed that was for 2 not 1!!!
Got a discount to soften the blow which helped a little.

I like chrome but they're practically impossible to keep clean.

Yeah I like them too Duke, I need to do mine as the paint is fading away and it looks pants. Is there a bit of a glossier shade to that colour available?

The tips are held on by 4 little tabs inside. You can just pull them off. (Or give them a tap from the back if they're a little stiff.) New ones just push on and clip in place.

You can check the available colours here http://www.cerakoteh...p.com/finishes/
There is also somewhere on the website you can find someone in the UK to get them done. I used Hi-Spec coatings. Cost was £22.50 per tip plus a £5 return postage if anyone is interested.

Also this is the same coating Milltek use on their black tips although I chose a darker black than the one they use.

They look very smart Duke. Might do this on my Scirocco as the chrome tips are now similar to yours before coating... Wonder if it will be possible to do the same on the Mk2.... Time for some research!
