Thanks Garby. Good to see what the Nardo with Silver wheels looks like. I actually like it which is great as I'm now thinking that I might go very basic in terms of look, but with dynamic pack/comfort pack etc.

Just had a little play about on configurator not all packages on there but least could get a little better idea of what I want

Not sure if anyone has noticed or is that bothered;

 

• Supersports seats cannot have electric or lumbar support, only sports seats can (difference is sports seats have height adjustable headrest but smaller side bolters, SSS can have diamond quilt stitching / more supportive a la RS6/7
• Carbon fibre inlays are available in Germany but not in the UK
• Sports exhaust available as a separate option, not just with mag ride
• Storage and luggage pack is standard in Germany, cost option combined with interior lighting pack in UK
• B&O as a separate option, not just in a pack along with other ICE elements

Just confirms that Audi are sloppy when it comes to a co-ordinated approach. So you can order the car in Germany with a spec that you can't get in the UK even if it were available to order here and either the responses from Audi UK about buckets, inlays and ceramics being available later in the year are a lie or poor communication.

It's not unusual to have different options available in different markets. For example, folding mirrors were an option on the 8L A3 in Germany, but not here in the UK. I don't believe Audi ever stated that the reason some options wouldn't be available until later in the year was because they didn't exist. Remember, regardless of what the engineers do, the marketing department decide everything. I think this goes some way to explaining why everything with this release has been a shambles. Put an engineer in charge of everything and they'd be in showrooms by now!

I can understand when talking about ceramic brakes or even buckets because of availability / price, but for carbon inlays and being able to spec a sport exhaust without mag ride or a brochure that has proper material to demonstrate what seat options there are? There appears to be no logic to such marketing strategy.

You would think that being a German manufactor they would get better options In Germany I'd just like some options here in the uk

Having watched a few US based reviews recently we have it better than they do. There are exactly two options to pick from when you buy an S3 over there. Same for a Golf R!
