I can see a lot of p*ssed off people here asking for deposits back when Audi don't deliver on timescales.
Cant see anyone getting a car for Jun/July as they initially forecast, have to agree it's probable we'll see press cars arrive around August and perhaps customer cars October for those that are prepared to take dealer cars rather than specced.
As for the Macan i detested it when first saw it, Since following a couple of nicely specced ones recently we've decided it might replace the range in the future as we now prefer it over the Cayenne.

Sorry don't agree with this. After 3.5 years of brake issues amongst many others on the RS3 I wouldn't have another one without ceramics. Audi rushed the brochure and made a hash of the launch because they are incompetent. Remember it's Audi's timescales we are trying to hold Audi to something which should totally be in their control. The only RS3's this country will see in July and August will be press cars if they even arrive on time. A number of issues on the MKI RS3 have never been sorted by Audi and the MK II is starting to look the same. It's going to be 2016 more likely 2017 if ever a MK II arrives with all the options promised and no issues with the vehicle.
Unless heavily discounted doubt I'll ever buy another Audi based on my experience with the first RS3. I have had to send the brochure and all information including the dealer pack to the dealer I placed a deposit with for the new RS3 so experience on this one ain't exactly getting any better. Think I'll go for something more reliable maybe a Ford.

Ford is certainly not more reliable than an Audi!! I owned a mk2 Focus RS, which went back to ford many times. Engine rattle, moisture in the reverse camera, rust in the rear wheel arches, sat nav wiring loom corroded, leather and stitching coming off the seat backings and to top it off the dual mass fly wheel and clutch went. The grass isn't always greener..!!

The problem with forums is many people join to fault find or discuss issues, We tend to forget there are many many cars out there without issues.
I had brake squeal but once sorted the car had no squeaks rattles or nasty noises just great motoring.
Im sure if we joined the Ford forum we'd have a list of RS faults like you say.

What were the delays like when the Mk 1 came out? How long between the first, apparently ready, cars where driven under strictly controlled conditions (like Finland on ice this time) and press being able to drive them properly on roads?
1st post on here went to dealer today to pick up my original gearstick I left when I had a metal one fitted on my S3 back in September on pick up. Spoke with my guy/friend there, he's got my specifications by email going by the brochure that was available online. He has configured it on the configurator but there are some discrepancies with the prices of the optional extras some lower some higher. Says he will know official prices on first of April has booked me in for Friday to put together some kind of initial deal. Also he has sent me some info on the car have not looked at it yet but apparently power figures blah blah blah. Can't post it on here but when I have looked at it I'll let people know if there is anything on interest. Just a update, so maybe Friday orders will open

You should have heard us on BM3W back in 2004 when more than a few E46 M3 owners decided to jump into the much more expensive "stripped out" CSL - myself included. "Why didn't BMW do this ? " "Why did BMW do that ?" but ultimately we all made ,at least what I thought was, an informed choice!
Wished I had kept mine instead of jumping out 18 months later quite a few £k poorer , but many more £k worth of fantastic driving experience , even if at 155 on the Autobahn it never seemed particularly planted.
Lets not forget that if we are RS3 owners we are very fortunate to be so - not everyone is as fortunate.

Well said Colin, to many ppl only want to post bad stuff on here.
Any strangers reading this forum would think we all hate them ffs !
Like another member on here said..... enjoy the car for what it is, its a storming bit of kit and I love driving it its super quick and understated
The sooner others on here started to enjoy it as well and started to post GOOD news for a change then it all will be doom and gloom
Someone I believe said something about if the car was a TVR you could appreciate the problems. I had a Modified Tuscan...yeh the stock suspension was awful so I changed it but the car was faultless in all the time i owned it so it does just go to show i guess.
Back in't day at 3-4 years old you'd be on new wings sills floor panels brake cylinders and pipes hoses exhausts possibly a clutch etc etc.....unless it was an Alfa when by now youd have an engine and a pile of red dust !!
Not as im comparing then to now but just diverting to how things have changed and what was the norm
I too am debating on buying another car and keeping current RS3 but really really want the new one cause it looks like they've solved most of the niggles from the 8P . I don't think I could wait till next year for a used one to become available
Alittle bit of both if I'm honest
I'm very bad at keeping cars once I know/ or think there's something not right even if Audi reckon it's ok ? the new RS3 will be my 4th Audi in about 2.5 years
