sounds like Audi have released a car that isn't quite ready, I certainly would not be happy paying £45-50k for a new car to find in 6 months, lots of new bits available to spec that i would have ideally wanted. Carbon trim should be standard, nav should standard, buckets and ceramics should be an option from the time the order books open... and the alloys are awful!

Well said, agree with everything. Just tried to get a pcp quote on an RS6 and they cannot quote until the 1st April as if they quote now the car has to be delivered by June 30th and it wont be! Thats not my problem! So will have to wait till April 1st to come out for there new finance rates, no doubt they will be going up! I thought Audi were supposed to be a premium brand!! Hate to see how a non premium brand behaves!

I just tried the same with an S4 was told the same thing. You'd think they were trying not to sell cars!!

Maybe we should start looking at alternative brands!

I'm starting to do just that!

Need 5 doors, 4/5 seats, room for dog in hatch/estate, petrol, generous front headroom, 4 wheel drive.

List seems to be RS3, Golf R, AMG A or GLA.  If I add in a requirement that it must sound good then I'm left with RS3!!!  Help - what am I missing???

There's an RS 3 already available that covers all that.

This is me but swap a dog for a buggy.
Have an a6 at the moment but want something smaller, faster and a lot more fun. Needs to have a decent interior/style etc.

S3/Golf R not really special enough, A45 just doesn't do it for me, GLA AND RSq3 are out on looks and I'm stuck for other options!

Don't mind going up a size, but S4 is now dated, merc don't do a c class with a decent engine and the new 3 series just leave me cold for some reason.

Golf R estate would potentially be interesting, but still can't really get comfortable with the interior.

RS4 is just outside of budget, I'm thinking maybe a 3-4 year old c63 but just not keen to start going backwards on tech etc.

Any other ideas?!

I'd be very interested in one but I think they aren't coming to UK with xDrive

Forget about the A45 AMG, it has less boot and rear cabin space because of a raking roofline. You'd get a 9-15 month old RS4 for the same price as speccing a new 8V RS3. C63 isn't 4WD if that is important to you, S4 whilst due for a facelift is immensely tuneable, moreso than the RS3. Jag XFR is a sweet handling car, great noise and power, underrated and they have depreciated like you wouldn't believe but again no 4WD and may be a little bigger than you would want. The new Leon Cupra 280 is a great buy as well and seemingly better than the Golf R

Sorry if I've taken this too far off topic! Thanks P_G, I'm looking at new cars as going down the PCP route, otherwise would be dropping the budget to circa £25k for an older car otherwise I think the RS4 would be ideal.
I have looked at the Leon, but the interior really put me off. 4WD isn't a deal breaker, just want something interesting and quick that isn't too showy to the masses.

You could always try a good, low mileage mk 1 RS3  ;)

You'll get a PCP on a car up to 12 months old, doesn't have to be new so S\RS4, XFR would all be available.

Something's going on at Audi UK, the brochure link has now gone 404, my dealer was going to email me some provisional finance figures but hasn't...

Does anyone know how easy it is to get a deposit back LOL.

For most of us the special race seats, ceramic brakes and carbon fibre trim are non-essential luxuries that do little to add to the overal experience of owning an RS3. If Audi rushed the brochure, it was only to quickly respond to the overwhelming enthusiasm on these pages. I think the glass is definitely half full rather than half empty. The new RS3 is still a very special car and not many other machines can do what it does for the same price while also serving double duty as an everyday family car. It was always the plan to deliver the first vehicles in July and August. The bulk of this years deliveries will arrive from September to November. By that time all issues will be sorted - they were last time. Anyway, if RS3 and A45 aren't your thing there's always the Macan.

Sorry don't agree with this. After 3.5 years of brake issues amongst many others on the RS3 I wouldn't have another one without ceramics. Audi rushed the brochure and made a hash of the launch because they are incompetent. Remember it's Audi's timescales we are trying to hold Audi to something which should totally be in their control. The only RS3's this country will see in July and August will be press cars if they even arrive on time. A number of issues on the MKI RS3 have never been sorted by Audi and the MK II is starting to look the same. It's going to be 2016 more likely 2017 if ever a MK II arrives with all the options promised and no issues with the vehicle.

Unless heavily discounted doubt I'll ever buy another Audi based on my experience with the first RS3. I have had to send the brochure and all information including the dealer pack to the dealer I placed a deposit with for the new RS3 so experience on this one ain't exactly getting any better. Think I'll go for something more reliable maybe a Ford.
