Latest from the dealer is ordering opening April now.

So we have the incomplete spec, ie no carbon, buckets and 'ramics

But we still can't order it.....

They did this for the mk1 it was about 9 months late and it looks like it's happening again.

I think I may have to get RoyG favourite colour just to save a few pennies .
2.5k just to have it de-limited 😵 and I want mag ride so I think I'll be driving a pretty fast battleship for a while

Does anyone know what the bucket seats will look like ?. I'd happily sell mine in favour of some more fashionable up to date Audi ones or even go for new Recaros as my OEM resale is out of the window already ......Does anyone know about these MTM ones ??

If you break down the price it is 1k to have it derestricted, the other 1.5K is for the exhaust and mag ride IIRC

I asked some queries of the dealer who sent me the PDF this morning and got the following reply;

  •          No mention of carbon ceramic brake option even though all press releases have suggested this would be a cost option, the first car in class to offer these and they were on the Geneva show car? Good point – I’m asking Audi
  •          No definition or visual reference of the difference between Sports Seats and Super sports seat except that the latter has diamond quilt stitching on them. Also no mention of bucket seat option even though specifics have again been released in the press these would be available? The super sports seats have the same squab as the normal seat, but the backrest (as in the images) has a one piece design i.e the head restraint is moulded into the backrest and is not adjustable. Ref buckets – I’m asking Audi for you.
  •          The Geneva launch car had carbon fibre interior inlays yet they are now not an option on this car? The car I saw in London had body coloured inlays in Nardo Grey through Audi exclusive- which are also not in the brochure. Ref the carbon ones – page 32 and 33 would spear to have the carbon inlays yet you are correct to say they’re not an option in the brochure! I’m not sure if it’s an omission in the brochure by mistake so I will ask Audi.
  •          The PDF mentioned the car has a 7” TFT display yet you look at the SD card sat nav. option ‘PNU’ and it mentions a 5.4” display instead? Option PNU is correct – 5.4” screen (the colour screen itself is standard on the car). The typo in the brochure actually says the DIS display (trip computer) is 7” which is way off the mark! The screen would upgrade to 7” if you opt for the Technology package.
  •          On the subject of sat nav. it isn’t standard yet it is on VW, Skoda and SEAT performance models? It’s not standard on any A3s whereas by the time the 8P RS3 was launched DVD Nav was standard on the run out model S3 – I would imagine this is why.
  •          Only 1 no. cost option paint colour? Nardo Grey is exclusive to the RS3 compared to the other A3/S3 models on the range and is the only no cost option that I can see. The other exlusive colour is the Catalunya Red.
  •          I note the RS6 and 7 have an exterior carbon pack option but the RS3 won’t get this? Why? I would imagine it’s down to cost. On the RS6 and RS7 this is a £4000 option which I suspect frankly might not have the greatest uptake on a car at this price range – but I will ask Audi the question.

To be honest, I am bit gutted about this spec brochure - the key options I wanted I thought would be nailed in as pretty much every RS car has them. Especially no buckets, as I sat in a S3 with the super seats and I just find they don't "hug" me in as well as buckets do. The carbon inlays looked so good in Geneva but not even a option??!

Not happy at all

As my granddad used to say the only thing for certain you must do is die. There wasn't even a right hand drive car at the London launch so that says they aren't even geared up for Production yet.

So Audi UK have really fecked this options list up as far as I'm concerned, the main faults I can see are,

No separate sports exhaust option, you have to have mag ride as well.

You have to have the Quattro logo if you want the black styling package.

No separate interior light package, you have to order the comfort and sound package to get it.

And did anyone notice that if you get the larger front wheels, there is an asterisk stating the CO2 rating will be higher !?

I'm really hoping this is a cobbled together brochure and they will correct the mistakes.....

and why does p23 talk about Park Assist when it's not actually available in the options?

I've just gone through the brochure, spec I'd like is going to be £50,450.........

I can imagine adding the buckets, sports exhaust and ceramics would add another £9000

I have to say it's cooled me off a fair bit - and I have my name down for one. I may have to look at an older RS4 again or hold off until spec get's upgraded

CO2 emissions increasing with the wheel dimension is inevitable - but it doesn't change the (current) tax band

Bloody hell !

Glad im sticking with my car now lads ....

I do honestly feel sorry for those of you lucky enough to be buying a new one , because it seems everything is at a cost (as usual) and to spend all that AND have to have NARDO as the only basic option is a kick in the nuts,,,,

Buy a good used R8 for 50k

An r8 isn't exactly a comparable car though is it? I need 5 seats, makes a nearly new m3 look tempting

Because it is a standard feature rather than a cost option

This is standard: "Audi Parking System Plus – front and rear with selective display – Acoustic and visual parking aid for the front and rear."
I can't see mention of Park Assist as standard OR option.  It's just listed under technologies on p23.  Have I missed it somewhere?
