Bloody hell !

Glad im sticking with my car now lads ....

I do honestly feel sorry for those of you lucky enough to be buying a new one , because it seems everything is at a cost (as usual) and to spend all that AND have to have NARDO as the only basic option is a kick in the nuts,,,,

Buy a good used R8 for 50k

Dug my invoice out from my 1st Car Ordered January 2011 Arrived/Purchased New January 2012

Extras I ordered with the Car have not really changed so comparison the New one is actually less for me that I think makes it quite a Bargain.

Spec of 1st Car:

Ibis White/Black Styling Pack

Light/Rain Sensors

Interior Light Pack

Privacy Glass

Bose

Cruise

Though-load

Electric Front Seats

Folding Door Mirrors

OTR Price: £42765.00

New Car with the Spec I'll probably order:

Nardo Grey/Black Stylying Pack

Electric Front Seats

Cruise

Sat/Nav

Privacy Glass

Audi Sound System

OTR Price: £42660

No adaptive cruise option. I know it doesn't make the car go any faster but it is something I would want to make long journeys more relaxing.

There is an adaptive cruise option, but you have to buy it in a retarded package that includes things you probably don't want for £700.

"Driver assistance package. Contains all of the following assistance functions: Adaptive cruise control, which uses a radar sensor to detect
vehicles ahead and maintain a set distance by automatically braking and accelerating. 4 distance levels and different driving modes can
be selected individually. Also includes Audi active lane assist (PCB) and High beam assistant (8G1)"

Everyday use completely different to something like an RS3 not owned a 14 Model but the earlier ones are just a too harsher ride for Day to Day use imo (although they are suppose to be better if you ditch the runflats) Performance they are unbelievable not just straight line but they also drive like on rails making even a poor or average Driver take it to speeds you might not normally feel comfortable with. I find them too big also for use as a Daily running cost are going to be a lot higher but think that is expected when your knocking on the Door of supercar performance.

That was mainly the early Cars now there 12 Months/12000 Miles and a 3 year Service Pack I think is only £499.00

Roy because of the defence cuts the Royal Navy have stopped building and painting their Battleships ,the government have sold the paint off cheap (just like everything they sell off)Audi must of bought a job lot of NARDO GREY paint and are now offering at a no cost option to entice customers😜

GT-R's aren't family cars though as they have less rear leg room than an Audi TT which is surprising for something so big. Day to day for me it also attracts all the wrong sort of attention from boy races to plod from some GT-R owners I have spoken to as it was an enticing prospect for me at one point until I actually sat in one.

I used to work in the gas metering industry.  Do you know why pre-payment gas meters are 'baby-poo brown'?  Because UGI meters bought loads of surplus brown paint cheap off the MoD after the first gulf war!
