I might be in agreeance...

I may ask Awesome, in the interest of statistics, to flash stage 1 then stage 2 and compare these with my same day stock figures (currently stock). Surely this will yield definitive results that can then be discussed, rather than one guys figures compared to anothers on a different day/dyno/mods etc...

I've already carried that test out on Independant RR'd back to back runs all learn parameters reset same day same fuel once car was strapped down it never moved.

Stage 1 was 406bhp 420ftlbs
Stage 2 was 396bhp 470+ ftlbs

Mods

Air filter
Gutted OEM downpipe
Secondary cat delete
Milltek non res cat back
Forge FMIC

That is why I queried APR and was told the delta gains are pretty much bang on ?!?!?!

I'm just going to make a suggestion here but do cars that have a stage 3 map do they get even less ponies??

I doubt it as IIRC stage III is designed for the hybrid turbo upgrade so any stage III car I have seen posted in tinterweb, the graphs have show 500+bhp

Chris your stage 2 figures are very similar to my stage 1.

So adding an intercooler, exhaust or down pipe adds upto 10bhp or 15-20ft torque?!?!

I'll keep my money as it's not worth it on a daily driven car.

Agree with you MacD, all that extra cash needed for a stage2 job.......pffff. I would rather spend it on 4/5 weekends away and a 500 quid worth of Audi Driving Experience.

By doing back to back tests under the same conditions is the only way you will get accurate information. It seems strange that the "tuner" was not doing a stock dyno run and then a mapped dyno run so the gains could be compared. :89:

If only they tell you this before hand my BHP is 15 less on my stage 2 than it was when I had stage one & it costs you nearly 2K to find this out

APR's advertised BHP Figures are what entice the customer to buy there products NOT the added torque

Every time i read one of these topics where people are getting something less from what is expected reminds me of "the emperors new clothes" fairy tale.

Did you have the car on the RR on stage1 after fitting just the mfic? If yes

When I had the first RR I had the stage 1 map & panel filter nothing else none standard

With the second RR I had full de-cat exhaust, panel filter & FMIC & it ran less BHP but more torque

That's given me an idea......if I can still get it I wonder what the results would be on a stage 1 v1.2 running stage 2 hardware??

My car running stock software with added secondary cat delete and miltek non res cat back with FMIC ran 370bhp

Never ran it bone stock as parts arrived and I was impatient lol

That run mentioned above was on the same rollers as all my others just on a different day.

I tried to run APR's equivalent of a stock file the day I ran both stage 1 and 2 back to back but unfortunately my car wouldn't take the software for some unknown reason.

I'm more than happy with how the car performs, the car is much stronger and faster than it ever was running APR's stage 1 file. Once I get back to home soil I'll be taking it to york for another run down the strip and I shall find out exactly what the score is.

Stage 1 11.7 1/4 mile held September last year but it was probably one of the warmest days of the year.

Barsky's with stage1,mfic, intake and bypass pipes was well above the rest of us went we went on the Big Fish Tuning RR, even better then Chris's stage2......
I bet Toby that you you have the stage1 file flashed back on with your current hardware you'll get a much better bhp result.

Barksey got 396 and 420ftlbs on the RR'd day, 20+ bhp extra with just the cooler added but it was consistent over all 3 runs whereas those with stock coolers started dropping after the 2nd run iirc.
