Im at a loss as to whats going on with these maps at the moment, and also at a loss as to which is truly the correct and best file to have on the car in stage 2 form...
APR advertise 440ish stage 2 with their FMIC etc which I have on the TT, never had a sniff at those figures, and Dynod in the cold temps of britain... Go figure

Stage 2 doing under 400

And according to the "tuners" one of the excuse's in another topic on this forum when people in RS3's were not reaching the quoted figures was "the TTRS starts off with more power than the RS3 was used to produce the figures". So in effect be it RS3 or TTRS both are not reaching the quoted figures,I'm no expert but i know what i deduce from all this.

Let's just say myself & Evan are in discussions
wonderful, perhaps Evan would like to open up and discuss on the open forum with the rest of APRs baffled customers... Keep us in the loop please!

What I've deduced out of reading for 6 months+ about mapping is if i was getting a map done [whatever stage]on my car be it by APR, REVO or any tuner i would have it on the same dyno before [to establish stock ] and then after map [to see gains] and if it didn't reach the quoted figures i would want to know why.A lot of people have had their map done without the before dyno so they could never be sure of the supposed gains to their cars.

Im enjoying the lack of response from APR on this...
To slightly diverge on the map branding... MRC seem to be getting reliably 420-445bhp on stage 2 TTRS. In all fairness I've heard good things and no bad things. Might be worth a consideration? They also map to your exact mods.
Im currently considering jacking APR in and going over to MRC as APR seem to be fumbling about with various versions of a map that aren't meeting expectations, and no feedback to the marketplace causing frustration and pissed of owners. Not what you pay £800 for, and multiple journeys for map updates etc...

MRC whilst they have a good reputation are not the holy grail of tuners and have their own foibles plus unless you are within 50-100 miles of them have no local back up unless you don't mind putting your car on a trailer to them if necessary.

I initially wanted an MRC map prior to looking into APR fully.
However them not responding to numerous emails or two phone calls where people couldn't be bothered to reply led me to believe the after service must be horrendous if you can't get hold of them to spend money never mind if there's a problem. P*iss poor!
Personally with V2.1 i've about 10bhp less than APR quote but about 40lbs more torque over V1, The car goes like a train and it's embarrassed super cars and super bikes!
I think i'll let them have the "missing" 10bhp as it really would mark next to no extra in performance.
I understand there are issues with some cars massively under performing which does need addressing specifically stage 2 cars where by it appears spending an extra few k's gets you next to no difference.
If your chasing the extra 10bhp pub figure then i'm afraid your going to be disappointed, Perhaps though APR should adjust the figures quoted and look at being more realistic? Surely then they'd be meeting expectations and not leaving people feeling cheated?

There are few things that need explaining and APR don't seem to want comment,on another similar thread a few months ago when questions were being asked they said they were having the manufacturer in to look at their dyno and they would come back and post the findings which they still have not done, these posts will keep occuring time and time again until the discrepancies have been addressed.

Interestingly today MRC held a rolling road day, an MRC stage 2 TTRS 2.5 TFSI made 433bhp & 600+NM (intake temps with Wagner Evo FMIC were 70 degree which isn't great and may want looking into)
Regardless, he has consistently had figures in that region I'm sure he managed 448bhp or something close last year when he fitted FMIC and Milltek Race.
Unfortunately no APR cars were there to compare, only a stock one, which was as expected...
So loosely based on this, it makes me wonder why APR cars are so so far off the mark.

You'll find that reading over a number of forums MRC's dyno fairly consistently runs unexpected numbers for other tuners maps on various cars (or numbers differing from what owners have gained on other dynos) however their map figures are always exactly as stated on their website..... interesting..... read into this what you will.
Back to the different dynos different figures debate.
Also, doesn't that particular TTRS also have MRC's s-tronic map?

Tell you what, MacD / Catnip, as you seem to have a decent relationship with Awesome could a dyno day be arranged there for all cars prior to do trading your '3 in MacD? Mine hasn't been dyno'ed on there and theoretically should have the same power rating as other Stage I's which if true will be more than what I got on the two dyno's it has been on at BFT and EvoTune. Chris, would you be up for coming across as well?

I'm sure I could drag myself up there if this was to happen
