Could the RS3 airbox be swapped for the TTRS one with the cold air feed would this give any gains?

I'm sure the Ttrs intake box is a closed unit !

The airbox is ever so slightly different.

IAT's are the 2.5's achilles heel there is no denying that.

The main difference is the slam panel on the TTRS has a premoulded ducting whereas the RS3 doesnt, so the intake of air is not as free flowing.

The above design is good, anything that increase the availability of cold air and less restriction will help.

Bit of a thread revival ...

 

I have been through a few iterations of APR maps Stage I Stage II different versions and different hardware but with intercooler finally finding there figures pretty much spot on but with high torque.

so to update all on the low figures on the RS3, everybody is aware that we carried out extensive testing for over a week on our Dyno with APR in America and the conclusive result was that the RS3 suffers massive high intake temps whilst on the rollers, APR stated that there was nothing more to come from the RS3 unless an intercooler was fitted, well we have now fitted two intercoolers in the last month and the result is as stated.

 

the result on stg2 with intercooler is 426.64bhp and torque measured 454.39

 

we will be carrying out a more exstensive test with before and after AIT's and bhp figures on every stage of testing soon.

Good results Mark are APR going to start recommending an inter cooler to get the best of the stage II figures?

 

I am in the North West late Wed - Sun if you want to log a Stage II with APR downpipe and forge cooler?

what i ideally need to do is log a std car on power torque and AIT's, then stg 1 with the same logs and then fit intercooler and log the same again, i need to repeat the process for stg2, as for APR recommending other products then this will never be the case, but I'm logged in as AwesomeMark and i am here to best advise you guys as Awesome customers and APR customers that the product we have carried out testing on at the moment is Forge, therefore looking at the fitment and the gains and the cost and quality i am going to recommend the Forge intercooler, Awesome is currently offering a 10% discount to RS3OC customers or the chance of a 6,9, or 12 month interest free finance package  (subject to credit availability and 10% deposit).

Mark, the peak torque figure seems a little low given a stage 1 will do somewhere between 600 and 650 NM which is 440-480 ft lbs? So does a stage two have similar peaks but broader band / bigger area under curve only?
