Great write up and some good points either way....

defo agree that the RS3 has more low down torque but after a few test drives i realised that i missed that V8 too much, the extra space and the more refined driving that the B8 has over the B7 and RS3.

Took the plunge and ordered mine in december and it comes in June in the following spec:

Sepang Blue

Black Optic styling pack

Carbon Inlays

Buckets

Sports Pack - (20" rims, dynamic suspension & steering, exhaust)

Auto dimming & folding mirrors

Advanced Parking (reverse cam)

Hill hold assist

Wanted ceramics but had to stop...and plan on selling the exhaust and storing the wheels to be replaced by something more aggressive. The suspension is amazing on track and to be able to switch it on and off like my bilstein kit is brilliant.

12 weeks to go and starting to get excited now, but will miss the 3 for all the right reasons.

:D

Glenn

Glenn ceramic brakes are like an extra 4,000 I'm sure you could of dug a little deeper....or is it the case of deep pockets short arms :P  :P

The ceramics look awesome but i wouldn't be ordering them on any car for a few reasons,

They're seriously expensive to replace should you have an issue with them.

I'm not going to notice any difference on a daily basis

I'm not tracking the car and if I did it'd be a rare occasion

You'd need to keep the car well in excess of 100k to offset the cost.

Oh and as you know 4k option !!!

And no doubt Glenn didn't order them because they aint big enough for his next RS4 project !  :)

So what's the latest MacD, got one ordered?

Long story but:

Having tried last weekend to place an order on Audi's dealer contribution scheme we managed to spec the car however when it came to pressing send it wouldn't let the dealer as the earliest they can deliver the car would be September therefore falling out of the "deliver by June"stipulation.

We then looked at used options which actually cost more to buy, more per month and i'm struggling to find my ideal spec.

Having tweeted Audi and complained about advertising a deal they cannot forfill it looks as though we are going to be allowed to order the car for September and still have the deal,  We have been told this over then phone however are waiting for it in writing first.

I've been offered a showroom car from Wakefield Audi however it was the same cost as my specced one but without a couple options i want so its a non starter.

My specced car has been ordered and locked into Audi's system on the pre tense i get the offered deal.

This is similar to the car i'll order if I can.  (internet pics)

The spec I've ordered:

Matt aluminium package

Carbon interior trim

Sepang Blue

Recaro buckets

Panoramic roof

Sports package - Sports Exhaust, Dynamic Ride Control, 20" wheels, Dynamic steering

B&O sound system

Parking system advanced - rear camera

hill hold

Advanced key - keyless entry with start button

Folding/dimming mirrors

Privacy glass

Sun window blinds

Heated seats

I've opted out of:

Lane assist- simply don't want it

Ceramics - i'd like but at a 4k option i'll pass.

Engine carbon- Looks great but at £450 for something only the techs will really see- (Might add it though lol)

High beam assist- the reviews appear to say its poor and not worth bothering.

Exclusive leather with quilted stitching-  Yea looks awesome but £6900 extra!!!!!!

Wheels - I've chosen the V spokes as initially i though they are more rare than the rotors, However the more I look the more I prefer he con caved look of the Rotors so I may swap.

Thanks, I've tried to tick things I miss on the RS3 or things that make the car feel special without going silly.

I got tagged in this yesterday doing the rounds on Book of Face:

Shows the subtle differences for those that think its an A4 with a bigger engine :)

Have you still been able to order and get the deposit contribution, even tho it will be delivered in September? And have you gone with the PCP deal they are offering?

Audi UK rang yesterday to confirm they will honour the deal and it's believed they are going to extend it to any cars ordered for delivery this year.

PCP will be the way i'll be going,  Off to thrash out the deal Saturday armed with half a dozen other dealer quotes of up to £9850 off list and £31000 for the RS3.

Whilst Sepang is a nice colour I'd be more inclined to go with racing Mica blue, especially if you're not soeccing the ceramics which IMO are not needed anyway.

Lovely cars though we almost went ahead to get one whilst also keeping the 3 but the dealership was disgraceful so we have walked away feeling quite bitter about everything.

I know but if googles correct though there isn't £2200 difference in the colours:

Oh really that sounds really good I've been looking myself and you can get some cracking deals i think I may try and convince my brother to see if he would like to order one paying some of the cost

Specced one to 66k
Custom paint, or exclusive Audi paint
Buckets
The main things none of that lane guidance rubbish
So would work out at like 52k with my deposit

thats great but probably down to the very low mileage you do, based on 15k miles a year I was told £20k after 4 years....
