No I’m lowered around 20/25mm. But I had this situation of rubbing before I lowered but when I lowered it did not get any worse. It just stayed the same

Billy.

Haven't you spaced out your wheels co's they hit the calipers mate ?

Michelin 255

Pirelli 255 [although this looks like 260mm if you measure the tread that only contacts the ground and not the rim protector on either side its only around 230mm[

And a few side by side shots. You can see how badly the inner of the P-Zero has worn after 9000 miles

RE: The worn edge of the tyre. There are others reporting similar extreme wear issues and I am wondering if we are seeing an emerging issue with the way the Pirelli tyres are wearing on the FL car. There is a thread over on 'the other forum' with owners experiencing this same problem of the very edge of the tyre wearing down to the cord but leaving loads of good tread across the majority of the tyre.

The pic below is one of my tyres that came off my car with only 4K miles. If you look closely you see that it looks as if someone has taken a file to the inside edge and begun to chamfer a 45 degree angle on it. Is this the beginning of what others are seeing on their tyres after some more miles?

Yes a lot of people are getting these issues. Why a lot of people are changing tyres.

I got a four wheel alignment about 4 months ago so it’s nothing to do with that. And I regularly check tyre pressure so never run it low

I must be in the minority then.

Maybe I just don’t drive it around bends like the Dukes of Hazard.

18mm

billy.

18mm off the oem off set & the 20mm drop won't help with the 255mm Michelin. 🙄

On the 8p.20mm drop with the 255mm Michelin & the oem wheel have no clearance problems, but they do have wider wings to accommodate them. 😁

@fivepotfan Can you post up your alignment sheet or comment on the Castor alignment.

If Castor is out, on full lock turn in, the wheel is forced onto a sharper edge angle. Can't find the words to describe it but there's probably a technical term.

Here you go....... the tyre that I posted above was removed from the car BEFORE the Eibach lowering springs were fitted. The left hand alignment chart with all the errors is the result after letting the suspension settle for a couple of weeks. I cannot say for sure if it was that bad before fitting the springs.

Caster is on the chart......third box down from the top.

Caster on that print out is the middle greyed out box. i.e Second box from the top.

Third box is front Toe

Castor is generally none adjustable I was told when I had mine aligned.

The chap explained that it would change just by having something heavy in the boot.
He then demonstrated it to me by pulling down the rear of the car and sure enough the reading on the machine moved.

Mate I'd get it to a reputable garage asap. That print out is very odd and looks like a deliberate attempt to hide the results.

The rest of the numbers look exceptional. Makes me wonder if they sacrificed something on Caster which in turn is scrubbing your tyres.

From the factory the 8v seem to scrubs the inside of the front tyres.🤔

Mine neither. Even so, Fivepotfan is having a major issue with it more so than usual.

Sean.

There has been postings about tyre wear in the past with the PFL using oem Pirelli.

But if I'm wrong I'll stand corrected.

All depends Dell

How the car is aligned , Tyre pressure , driving style around corners.

As Brian said to me when we were discussing it, how do we know Audi haven’t purposely set the car up this way..... what one wheel is doing when Corning isn’t exactly the same as the other wheel.

Lots of Geometry changes happing, you only have to look at the (Ackerman) effect as the tyres are turned from left to right, contact patch of the tyre is different.
