Is there a way of telling by looking at my car if they have been back to Audi or not? Want to phone Audi and see im guessing they will have it on there system, if it hasn't wouldn't mind as be free and with 10k on the clock probably a good time :-)
2. Update-Code: 47i6
State: confirmed
Released: 2. April 2013
Vehicules: RS3 und TTRS, alle MJ
Countires: all
Description: on complaint
brake cliper and pads 8P0 698 996
brakedisks 8P0 615 301 B
I think the thing to look for is the letter B on the brake discs. I'm sure others can confirm this. Should definately be logged if its been done. If the dealers don't give you any joy, have it logged with Audi UK.

Also check the calipers as the new ones should be sporting 2 anti-vibration bobbins:

Are you talking to the dealer or Audi head office?

I thought it was a world wide issue?
Cant see why they'd do it in Germany and the UK that I know of and not else where.

Took my local dealer (in Belgium) a bit of arguing with the Audi head as well, but got it sorted in the end. Would really pursue this, George

I have had a number of sets of discs and pads out of Audi (car is 2.5 yrs old) due to the old sets repeatedly overheating.
Since the modified parts were fitted the brakes have been rubbish with even less feel and less bite.
Has anyone else found this?

I don't know about poorer performance, at least I haven't noticed any (but then again I never really push the car to the limits).
New set of discs is now, few months after the update, again warped and causing wobble upon braking. This annoys the cr** out of me especially on motorways if it's raining as the car will then regularly just touch the brakes to keep the pads dry, causing the steering wheel to vibrate every 10 seconds or so.

Initially I went through two sets of discs and pads in a short space of time and Audi replaced them an carried out the modification to bumper (more holes) and additional ducts. This helped a little bit didn't solve the overheating issue. Another set got warped and they then fitted modified parts. This didn't seem to really help so I just went easier on the brakes until I fitted Pagid R19 brakes. They were fantastic but I couldn't live with the squeaking at low speed.
I started to get a weird noise on full lock left and right. Apparently my discs (didn't realise they were floating discs) had physically moved and they were instructed by Audi UK to strip the brake system down and replace the calipers, discs and pads (yes they replaced my Pagids FOC for new Audi pads lol). Again these were apparently all modified parts.
Since then the brakes have been pants. I get very little feel, very little bite and brake fade reasonably quickly. They stop when you stand on them but they are rubbish. It is my biggest bug bare with this car by far.

There was also an increase in dust which said to me they're using softer pads but this was never confirmed.
I'd also say that if discs are warping shortly after being replaced then it's down to an incorrect bedding in procedure.

As you say, now pedal travel is significantly more which is what I meant by v little bite.
Any suggestions on best way to resolve this?

My car is going in later this month to Glasgow Audi to look at squealing brakes. They also make a grinding noise and just feel odd. I guess that's less easy to demonstrate though. I was discussing this with a pal in the motor trade this morning and he told me that he knew of at least one car on which Audi replaced the fronts with ceramics. Now THAT would be a good deal. I'll try to get more info if I can but don't see him regularly.
Anyone here had this done either by Audi or on their own account? It's such a good car I can't believe how piss poor the brakes are.
