I’m wondering if pads maybe play a part, they do recommend DS2500. I might just go for it and try the discs with my DS Performance pads I bought.

I enquired at Tom Wrigley about some AP discs but still waiting to hear back.

Ooft, ah well much the same as the Vagbremtechnic discs then. Decisions, decisions!

Might just hold off for an update from Dell. Unless we can drum up another taker on the Alcon set.

Sonny.

The noise is due to the J hook grooves, any grooved discs is more noisier than cross drilled & most pads for very fast road/track days like wise.

That's the price you pay for good stoppers !

I’ve been running these on the front for a while now Dell A bit noisy tbh due to the closeness of the bells to the pads. Appears to be related to the holes in the bells where the pressure springs clamp the rotor to the bell. Kind of sounds like having playing cards on your push bike wheel when you were a kid

Duke.

You've keeped mum about those !  :P

Duke.

Those pads do run close to the bells.

Brembo pads have a wider wipe then AP one's.

The noise is constant when the disc is rotating FYI. I will try some different pads just in case the red-stuff’s are adding to the problem at some point. As I’ve had them on for a while I don’t really register the noise anymore 😊 The direction of the ‘J’ makes absolutely no difference whatsoever btw. The rotors are straight vaned cooling so basically you can fit them either way around it’s just your visual preference.
I hadn’t mentioned them Dell as in fact I possibly have a warped rotor as I’ve had high speed brake wobble. I’ve just been too busy to get it sorted. As I need to get my front suspension stripped off to cure a few other issues I’ll re-look at the discs then after a realignment. Btw these rotors are 1.5Kg lighter than stock so save 3 Kg of unsprung weight. 😉

Front end knocking Jay. Suspect it’s a drop link and I’ve got the 034’s waiting to fit. I also have to strip my B16’s as I’ve noticed the top rubber isolator washers have split so also adding to the knocking. Added to that I need to strip my Superpro lower arms and re-grease the bushings and after all that I still need a full re-alignment as the pot holes around Berkshire B roads have shot my alignment as it feels like I’m running on the inner tyre shoulders
Which is what shot my previous 2 front tyres. I’m just so busy at work and a massive change in my personal life over the last 5 months I just haven’t had the time 😫

Funny you say that Rob, I have a front end knock on full lock left and right. Would send a video but it doesn’t attach. Doesn’t occur when the weight is off the front but under load and turning it knocks. Something I’ll attack again soon.
