The MSS are adjustable springs so you can set your own height within reason.

I'm with you on this Dell because they are a lot of money. I have to say ditching the adjustable mag ride isn't an option for me and I am not fussed about track days (well not in my car  :D ). The reason I wanted them is to lower the car to look better. Now I have aftermarket wheels I didn't want to chance getting just lowering springs and find out I have a rubbing which can be altered by a bit of adjustment.

Stu.

Dumping the mag rides is a madness, you've got it so use it with a better aftermarket spring set up.

The MMS rears springs adjusted just the same as my Bilstein B14s & i'm guessing the fronts have the same sort off adjustment as the rears have build in.

Now you have aftermarket wheels & your looking at fitting spacers your options could be limited mate.

Dell.

Hi Dell I was under the impression that the MMS springs could be adjusted in height the the mag shocks would still work off the MMI settings. I this not correct?

On my R I swapped the mag springs for VWR coilovers but my misses found it too hard.

Stu.

Once you've fitted the MMS springs & got the ride height how you want it,you will then need to get the magride recalibrated to suit as all the damping calibrations will be out & your end up having a bad ride.

Remember your only changing the springs, not the magride so the MMI will still work as it did before mate.

Fitting any new springs to the RS3 with Mag Ride shocks alters the datum points the shocks use for a reference point.

So the shock thinks it’s extended at a certain mm height, but in reality it’s not because you’ve fitted springs that are shorter, ride quality suffers because the shocks are always out of sync with where the cars actual ride height is.
This is why the calibration always offers good feedback.

Even standard cars benefit because the measurement is always out after the car has settled months/years from being brand new.

I'm looking forward to having my MSS kit fitted to improve the ride height. Hopefully, @DJAlix will do a remote recalibration once the job is done given we are about 500 miles apart.

Would you mind giving a review once fitted? This is one mod (springs) I will be doing in the future 👍

No problem, gladly, but not sure how qualified it would be as my car has only done 100 miles.

I had the mms springs incl mag ride and it transformed the car imho (PFL). I did get DJA to work his magic although he agreed my factory setup was almost right anyway, some aren't apparently.

Anyone got any views on this or had it done yet and can give us a report? No mag ride issues?

Guys, can anyone shed any light of fitting issues for MMS kits on the FL and are they any different to the PFL?

Today I spoke to Regal Autosports my local tuner for a fitting price and they said they have had issues fitting to a FL and a TTRS. I am waiting for a more detailed reply from Chris the owner but the sales person said the tops are not are rounded as the part they have to sit in at the top and it put the whole shock out slightly, but only on one side. They would fit under instruction but are not going to recommend them until there is a solution.

This puts me in a dilemma because I don't want to get rid of the mag ride but not happy with the standard height.

I have a set ready to go on so I've just asked William at MSS if he has any comments on the fitting issues. I'll report back once he responds.

William Blankson, the owner of MSS, has already responded saying that he is not aware of any problems but that he would like further information. If I was one of his dealers & had problems with fitting on two separate models I would have contacted him for advice. To me, it seems strange that they haven't so maybe it would be worth their while.

Just looked up the struts on Etka and there is no part number change from 2016 to 2019 on the front axle..........

2 additions for 2019 though but it looks like just a different weight class of spring.

William has responded to me again and says he would be very keen to help anyone who is having difficulty with his products. He also says that his southern dealers are:-

"Our official resellers in the South are Russell Automotive of London or AKS Tuning in Milton Keynes."

Hope this is of some help.

Hi Callum66 - As soon as I get the detailed reply I will post it and feel free to pass it on. I did get the tech answer but I was driving in a city centre and can't remember everything he said. Adjustable would be spot on for me so I hope it can work.

Russell Autos fitted my MSS springs - no issue. MSS specifically developed these springs on 8v car & recommended height as front -25mm and rear -15mm.

Guys, I have no knowledge of fitting or using these springs and this is solely what was said to me when I enquired about a fitted price. I have just come off the phone to Regal and although I await a tech report I have a basic answer. I am pretty sure he said the caster was not the same on both left and right and after investigating they found the profile inside the turret is more rounded and the kit were flatter. this meant they didn't sit in as they would have liked and meant there was a difference in the 2.

They have not said that the quality of the kits on the whole is bad or that there are any safety issues. This is merely a case of they now have the equipment to set up track cars and noticed this is not within the tolerances they would expect. They can always call Chris at Regal if they want to discuss it further.

Anyway after doing some more research I have decide to order a set of the new KW adjustable spring sets for the FL which have matching profiles. KW kit was £450 inc vat and delivery.
