You should see what you are getting stock. 450 is easy enough, just ring MRC or somewhere you know close to you and see what they have to offer.

Woodstock25,
FWIW I would go with whomever you are happy with, as there are a number of good companies in this industry....... there are also some I wouldn't touch with a 10ft cattle prod, but that's the reality of the tuning industry.
Being pragmatic I would also suggest your biggest bang per buck is going to be a nice Stage 1 remap..... and that's it. Further mods, whilst releasing more power (or noise lol) will be about diminishing returns.
Don't just concentrate on peak dyno figures either.... for me it's about how the car as a package transfers that to the black stuff in acceleration.
Question is how much budget have you got and are you bothered about a few tenths here or there.
My personal opinion on the suspension/coilovers/ARB's/springs - save your cash! Ha I know this is highly subjective but for a road car, it does what it needs to do (imo). It's not meant to be an edgy roller skate / go kart. But, whatever floats your boat.

Capacities don't mean a fat lot, unless all the cores are equal..... which they are not.
I've said it a gazillion times over the years..... it is, imo, all about the quality of the core (versus cost).
Please exapnd on this again?
What is meant by the cores being equal and I presume the quality refers to the cooling ability?
Thanks.

Shaunee,
When the rear ARB was fitted to my 8P it totally transformed it and it was a different car after putting it on made it handle so much better,
If I noticed it then it must have been good !

Which is why I have been trying to source a decent rear ARB for my 8V. May end up providing a reasonable result without having to spend loads of cash on suspension kits. Got to be worth a try IMO.

Got to agree with Shaun, you can get 430 on a stage 1 tune (mine is 430 and 600nm) and the car is a very different drive to the standard car given the outlay invested. However, for the power output you are seeking I would definately recommend fitting an uprated intercooler as the standard one really struggles with heat soak past stage 1. You may also need to consider a dsg remap (again mine has had this) given the amount of extra torque the remaps can produce on this engine.
I am a fan of MRC but have to say that the torque curve on the Litchfiled maps (see Shauns's One step at a time thread) is just superb.

Milltek secondary cat replacement pipes are already on there and am unsure about a panel filter as the paper one gets changed every 5k miles.
Looks like I'll be going APR stage 2

Hi peazz,
You listed a Hi-flow turbo elbow
What is the make of this, who much is it, do you mean turbo downpipe and what changes in the torque curve does it produce?

Awesome have ordered the Forge FMIC for me and I have the downpipe and sports cats being fitted next week.

Is APR Stage 2 now available?
It was available last October when I was querying the modifications and it's been on the APR website for a while

It's further down the page where it mentions the downpipe

YEs agree with Shaunee.... from my cosworth days I went from the biggest shiniest intercooler I could squeeze in... to proper BEHR cores or, correct me if i'm wrong.. Bar & Plate cores?
I'm now craving some remap action as the car as standard is quite flat from 60 onwards I feel.

Rang Awesome today and they confirmed APR stage 2 is available. Generic map though but they're convenient to me. Should be fitted alongside Milltek downpipe and high flow cats on Wednesday with just the forge intercooler outstanding for a months time.
H&Rs are being fitted at the same time as sub frame needs removing for the downpipe anyway. Might as well do alignment once instead of twice.

If its a generic map how do you know if it will run properly with all the extra bits you plan to bolt on? For me,the intercooler would be a 'must do' at stage 2 to ensure control of intake temps? Not sure I would want to run around for a month or so before fitting it, especially with all the lovely new power on tap to tempt you.

Stage 1 is on a stock car and they use a generic map for this as the hardware they base the map on is a stock car.
They state a minimum of downpipes to go to stage 2 but they did recommend an intercooler even at stage 1. Intercooler will be a bonus and help with temps but as they're made to order I'll have to wait for that. If there's any issues am sure they'll flag it or alter the map accordingly.
They're sticking it on the rollers next week so it'll be a good comparison between stage 1 and stage 2. Then it'll go on the rolling road again in a months time when the intercooler is fitted.
