I need a set of Spark plugs as mine are overdue for replacement and it starting to run slightly rough from cold.

Now I could go to Audi or an independent and pay stupid money or spend 1/2 hour and do it myself and do it properly. :)

Now which ones am I buying?

Audi part: 079905626E

Alternatives I can find are:

DENSO - IRIDIUM TOUGH SPARK PLUG - VKH22

NGK 5245 ILFR7H Laser Iridium Plug

Beru 14 F-4 NBPR (Never heard of them before??????)

Any recommendations. Car is not mapped BTW.

These are OE equivalents Kelza apparently. Not sure what Audi supply as standard without pulling one of mine out.

Just looking for recommendations if anyone has experience of the ones i found.

Sorry Matt I wasn't meaning to contradict you, my post was more for general info.

As they are both the same part number except the final character then there wont be a massive difference and as Matt has been using the newer one they are evidently an equivalent part.

Not as many hits on the web for 079905626J but more than one state it has superseded 079905626E so basically either will do.

Still as RS3Dell found that Audi fitted Beru plugs i'm going to pull one of mine to see what's currently fitted.

I dont have an issue running non VAG plugs, cars out of warranty anyway and NGK or Denso are equvalent quality parts.

If anyone else has experience running with the NGK or Denso's then let me know. Think i have discounted the Beru's as I have never heard of them before.

I'm pretty certain the current OEM plugs are still made by Beru but stamped up VAG..
I ran Denso's for a bit and after a few months started to develop running problems. Reverted to genuine and they disappeared and haven't come back.. I was also advised by a well known tuner to stay clear of Denso.
You won't go wrong with NGK but most only go for them when mapped as they do the "race plugs" which are excellent.
Trust me, stick with genuine.. Hopefully you have or know someone that can get them from TPS for you. I got mine for £68

Hmmm, thanks Matt

I'll get a quote on a set of 079905626J but i'm deffo not paying nearly £100 for a set.

NGK 5245 ILFR7H Laser Iridium Plug come in at @ £60 so if I can get originals for @ £68 then I will take your advice.

Beru (part of Federal Mogul) produce a lot of Coil packs, spark plugs etc.....
So quite a big player in the ignition component world.

I remember Beru from the vauxhall's I used to own in the 90's

When i had a 6 cylinder Z4 I replaced all the ignition coils (misfire quite common on BMW Z4's) they were Beru coils with BMW stamp on.

The parts catalog lists Denso VKH 22 as an alternative.

Thanks Dell.

I managed to get a set for £69 delivered so I'm sorted and stayed original just for peace of mind.

I bought some Denso plugs, as advised on a previous thread for a Stage 1 car. I've not fitted them yet, shall I stay clear?

If that was me then apologies. I was all for the Denso's until I tested them in the real world for a bit and I wouldn't use them again.
Definitely stay genuine
