I must admit I noticed that too....Thought it might have been the painkillers blurring my visionSo they are YellowStuff pads then Dell ?

Sean.

No they were Reds but now Black & well done !

I'm now just bedding a different make of pad which if turns out ok I'll post the results.

I need to change the brake fluid at the weekend to 5.1 as I think that's cooked also 😕

Dell - out of interest do you know what disc and pad set up Audi have gone for on the FL mate?

They do look larger in the FL .
on the 8v you could look in the brochure for sizing but struggling to find details for the FL

Same size 370 mm discs and 8 pot setup.
Disc to Hub mounting points are all new design though.

Drilling pattern looks different but the big question is .......are they handed?
My money is on no.

I think you're right. I'm sure I've read somewhere that they're still not handed on the FL.

I don't think there be any larger as there be limited by the wheel size.

Interesting about different & new hub mounting points. It's generally acknowledged that the break squealing is due to vibration - but vibration from what? Is it the pads, is it the calipers, is it the disc or is it the mountings? This forum has settled on the solution being with the pads as squealing is 'solved' by using different pads (red stuff, ferrodo etc) but could it be that these alternative pads are better at coping with a vibration issue which is still there but not so audible? Have Audi determined where the problem is and redesigned the mountings for the FL, hoping 3rd time lucky? Feedback from FL owners on the brakes would be interesting and possibly informative for 8V owners?

Just fitted new iss c discs and DS2500 pads on the front all fitted fine but was told by the garage after testing that my near side front is getting 30% hotter than the offside front, they have put this down to a binding calliper, considering I have just spent to get new pads and discs and just had them fitted I don’t really want to replaced the whole brake kit can I still get the front 4 pot rs calipers ? Are they available from anywhere

Probably will be hotter as the discs aren't sided so the ventilation veins aren't the same.

It will run hotter David as Jay points out.

When I measured my 8P disc temps after a spirited drive there was 60c difference.

Junk the oem discs and get some proper handed 2 piece affairs.

Alcon, AP etc etc.

I believe this has been rectified now on the FL and TTRS as they come with these plastic ducts for improved airflow

Hi I’m having new brake calipers fitted under warranty but the new ones that have come in don’t have the balance weights on can these be swapped from the set I have on the car or should they be supplied new ?
