Getting the haldex serviced again by an independent dealer on Monday after Audi done it 17 months ago but their replacing the filter (which I'm supplying) hopefully this will prolong the failure.

Yes Dell, it's all about the correct spec when trying to sell these things. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. May have to edit my add.

Haldex filter and oil replaced today, surprisingly they said the filter wasn't too bad. Nevertheless peace of mind and all that.

P.S for all you curious lot, the old filters in the bin not in the classified

So since changing to the Michelin PS4s tyres and the staggered setup 255/235 I've been having more traction issues than when I was on 235 all round and on the MPSS. Which is odd. So could be the tyres or could be the staggered setup causing the issue.
So tonight I've had a scan of the car and low and behold, ironically I have 4WD fault on the haldex...
585e0808ccb3a08b4194355ef5eb79fb.jpg

I've replaced the filter and oil in March this yeah (4K miles ago) but previous to that I did have a couple of scans showing intermittent pump fault V181 but these haven't returned for well over a year now so wondering if this new fault is the pump finally giving up? I've reset this fault and it hasn't returned so will drive tomorrow and rescan to see if it returns as I would have thought if it's failed completely it would return almost instantly when the car wants to use the 4WD.
Can anyone give me some pointers for VCDS tests I can do please to check the haldex system etc.

I've searched online and some people have said check fuse (not blown in my case), could be rear diff or could be haldex unit or pump.

Muchos

Normally if the pump fails the car starts to become a handful, traction light flashing etc....
When the pump went on my 8P the difference was night and day and it had the error of a failed Haldex pump.

I've heard reports of changing to MPSS causing issues but I don't honestly see why that makes a difference.

You could try going into AWD and do an output test on the pump (clear the fault in the AWD module first though)
See what you get then.

I suspecting it's not that then as to be honest it is manageable just the odd time you put your foot down the traction flickers up but that may be due to the increase in torque I have.
Will try some output tests later, bit of luck it doesn't return, may be throwing a wobbly

Original pump yes, since my ownership anyway. I know. You reckon I should buy some more wheels and tyres haldex system is probably thinking what the f*** is going on. 19" 235s all round/ 20" 245s all round to 19" 255/235 staggered haha

I had mine changed last year (June) and ive had a couple of flickers recently during WOT 3/4/5. Interestingly enough, its since I changed to MPS all round. I think ill get it serviced soon as a precaution as it really is a weak point in the car. Has anyone got any experience with the Haldex Gen 4 controller?

Drove the car yesterday with all sorts of driving styles after resetting the clutch fault. Re scanned today and no outstanding faults so perhaps it was just throwing a wobbly and was just really bad timing to make me think it's something to do with my wheel/tyre changes etc
